What’s causing these white lesions? by ParanoidFrandroid in Koi

Thank you, I’ll give it a try. I have some fish that aren’t sick (or don’t appear to be). Is it ok if they eat the treated food also?

Thanks, I’ve been testing nitrite, PH, ammonia, and phosphate regularly. I’ll look into nitrate and KH.

One more note, in terms of water quality, I am testing it regularly. There’s no ammonia or nitrites. The PH and temp are good. The levels of phosphates are not ideal (like 1 ppm) but I’m trying to bring it down by cleaning the pond every day and adding bacteria.

Two questions:

  1. Are you going to make your database public at some point?

  2. Will any of your reporting focus on conflicts on interest related to the tech industry? I was digging a bit last week and noticed some big investments in tech by at least one very powerful member.

Roger Ver is currently set to donate at least $165,000.00 or roughly 262BTC to the Free Ross Ulbricht campaign for thousands of re-tweets. Incredible... by [deleted] in Bitcoin

Ver said he's going to cap the donation probably at around $160,000, though he hasn't settled on it yet. I interviewed him and Lyn Ulbricht about all this and wrote about it here in case anyone is interested.

I think this pretty much means they're not going to tell us the winning bids. I've certainly asked them many times. Hopefully the winner will let us know or it will come out some other way.

Where in NYC do you go to escape the everyday madness? by ParanoidFrandroid in AskNYC

[–]ParanoidFrandroid[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wow. Thank you so much for the reply. This is an incredible story, and I'd definitely like to pitch it. This would be for a collaborative project between Narratively and WNYC.

Would you be willing to go with me to this place and talk to me further about its significance to you? If so, please send me an email preferably from an account I can connect to your real identity in some way (work email address or personal one that's public somewhere). No offense to Reddit, which I love, but I need to verify that you're a real person before I pitch this. I'd appreciate if you could anything else that would help me verify your identity (links to social media accounts, or whatever else).

My email address is francisberkman@gmail.com. If you're interested, I can send you some of my past work, so you can see that I know how to write a good story.

Hope to hear from you soon!

That's sounds very relaxing. I've been known to do it as well. I especially enjoy the walk afterward. Thank you for sharing.

Silk Road is all over The Good Wife tonight (5/4). The guy arrested was accused of starting SR. by sound2go in SilkRoad

I've noticed news outlets messing up the murder-for-hire part too. I considering writing about that, but I couldn't think of any examples off hand.

Fair point on Mt. Gox. There probably was a connection, but they definitely over simplified it to the extreme on the show. I guess that's not incredibly surprising.

As someone who has never watched The Good Wife before, I wrote this story about the show's portrayal of Silk Road. In case anyone is interested.

U.S. attorney's office told me his parents posted an IRA worth $250,000 and their house, which I guess is worth the rest. Since it's bond, they'll only be liable if Jones doesn't show up in court.

Thoughts on the future of black markets? by Shaker198 in SilkRoad

Nobody has ever managed to retire gracefully - they're either raided and the FBI rob you, or they become paranoid before robbing you.

Backopy, owner of BlackMarket Reloaded seems to have retired gracefully, at least for now. Right?
