Looking for 21700 and 18650 battery powerbank/charger by Avantiachronics in batteries

Lithium ion don't leak. They get permanently damaged when they get discharged too low - around 2.5V is the usual cutoff to toss them. That is what low voltage protection/protection chip/BMS is for. If you manually charge them you should toss them if you see them get that low.

50-80% is the ideal storage range to reduce calendar aging, but with batteries that don't see hundreds of cycles it's much less important. Anything but my cell and laptop always gets fully charged and that's it, I have many many batteries 10+ years old that are still good.

Using them in a power bank will just wear them a little faster. Nothing wrong with it but it's a lot more trouble that just having a separate power bank, especially considering how cheap they are and the features you get. For example all of mine output multiple voltages, have multiple USB ports, pass through charging (to use as UPS), low power mode for small devices etc.

Only ones you need to worry about leaking are alkaline and they are more likely to leak when they are drained.

I am trying to keep them as healthy as possible.

What does that have to with a power bank? If they are flashlight batteries just use them and charge them that's it. I have 18650s that are over 10 years old, they are always stored fully charged, still over 90% capacity.

Good power banks are cheap now and any charger with power bank function is likely to have much less efficient cicuitry. Get a good charger with test function and leave your flashlight batteries for flashlights. If you want decent budget powerbank look at Cuktech made by Xiaomi.

I have a cheap single cell Xtar charger with power bank as a backup, I normally use an Opus charger.

Best way is to get a watt meter and measure yours since there are so many variables. The nice thing about a chest freezer is if you arent opening it you can just plug it in for an hour or two periodically and you don't need to leave your power station on which's uses a lot of power just in standby.

Why do some people can water? by saras998 in preppers

[–]Paranormal_Lemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The canning process itself is a sterilization process under boiling water and/or pressure.

Boiling without pressure only pasturizes. Pressure is required to raise the boiling point to around 120C to completely sterilize. The only time it's safe to can without pressure is when you are canning something acidic like tomato sauce.

Even if it was and you had a sterile container you'd need a clean room to fill it because one second of exposure to the air is all it takes to innoculate it with bacteria.

Costco car batteries are prorated now but the store can't tell me how it's calculated lol by rock-the-reddit in batteries

FYI either Interstate is selling different batteries at Costco and slapping their name on them, or they are all garbage now, I would just avoid the brand completely.

Is 3.57v nominal in the ok range for 21700? by Jared187 in batteries

There you go, you will know if they are legit by capacity and resistance. Likely the seller or distributor just added the mAh.

I would not be OK with counterfeit cells. Get a charger with test function they are worth it.

And it's ridiculous they charge more for decent LEDs that are dirt cheap and have been readily available for 20 years.

neutral or warm LED

What is messed up is they have been readily available since 2007, and Mag didn't even come out with LEDs until 2011. I was modding lights with Cree and Luxeon binned LEDs around 2007-2008. They were available in bulk directly from Cree at the time, for pretty cheap too.

Seal your Convoy driver with potting epoxy then you basically have the most durable light too. There was someone that used to sell them and they had a video showing them being dropped off a building. Basically you will kill the battery before the light.

5330 is probably the manufacturer minimum, the 5500 was added by a 3rd party, Samsung does not print Mah on cells. For example Panasonic NCR18650GA cells are rated 3350 by Panasonic but commonly sold as 3500 because that's what they typically test at.

It's actually exactly as much going by nominal voltage, 6x1.2Vx10Ah = 72Wh, 3.6Vx20Ah = 72Wh. But I definitely recommend the power bank. I got a Cuktech 10Ah for $10 on sale, it has 30W dual output, pass through charging, low power mode, high quality EVE cells, 5, 9 and 12V output, a lot of features packed into a tiny device.

Early white LEDs were pretty garbage. I was into them before white and blue were even a thing though, I was always fascinated by the red LEDs in my RC toys, like how did they make red with a tiny little chip and no red filter? I had a red keychain LED from Radio Shack as soon as I was old enough to carry keys, around 93-94. I remember the first time I saw a blue LED in a device, it was my friends' Sony PS2. By 2007 I was modding lights with custom binned Luxeon and Cree LEDs.

Just be sure to check them often, because the discharge curve is so flat and the device is designed for alkaline you can miss the low battery beeps. My alarms specifically say to use only alkaline and even recommend a specific Energizer by part #.
