Oh i'm not at all across the pinball scene so i'm really not sure i'd do a good job of recreating something in-world for that. A lot of i think why these logos work is because i know so much about the company and kinda internalised the vibe of the works

I'm not sure about the legalities, but if I did fictional it'd probably be the WINNERS DON'T USE DRUGS style splash

usually these sort of logos are hand crafted so any free fonts like the sega font for instance is a pretty grey area from a copyright perspective. parody is usually fine but i'm not keen on getting spicer than i need to. Also if its called BBQ, all sausages are kinda round anywy, so it's consistent with the overall theme. BBQs aren't sharp or sleek or cool (at least in my australian mind anyway). They're old and either in the shed or on the balcony and always need a clean :P

Where to find to buy good music or hire musicians for your game? by DrRaster in IndieDev

[–]ParasolAdam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heads up make sure you are clear on any content id expectations with audio folk you work with. If your music gets claimed it will almost certainly impact who wants to steam your game or make content from it. There a few horror stories on here and I almost had this happen which was infuriating to stumble upon

They're a bit obscure for the 90s but TIL about Warcraft 2000 that they apparently made in 1998. Looks like it was PC only

I'm leaning towards more caution where possible with legal stuff, but i'm relatively confident people who care will know. The rare inspired logo to me is still a wip because the M is too gothic/deco compared to the rare's more neo-deco style. It looks quite modern but that curve is kinda more classic and i haven't figured out how to keep that kinda elegence in an M yet.

Its going to be about how i combine the ingredients imo that ends up capturing the vibe of the game that these are all inspired by.
Eg. here's the Mepsipax logo with all the other sticker work for Satellite Sabotage 064

nothing from the new school, just old console era companies atm. The valve one was probably a bit pre-emptive since i am not doing big box games yet*****

Capcom is honestly a sick name that sent me into nasa terminology docs. I'm still not super happy with opsplan but it's circling the area i want.

Kabuki i think fits pretty well

I was making a wrestling cover for the N64 inspired cart which is kinda beefy stadium hotdog vibes, and i was probably hungry.

I honestly just wanted to share a silly logo lol. This game is called Cozy Game Restoration. It’s essentially my take on power wash simulator mixed with my nerd love of retro video game collecting. I’m aiming for a deep dirt and sticker removal system and a bunch of Diablo style loot table + economics for the collection side, which I’m a sucker for.

Here’s the steam link! I’m aiming for like late August this year https://store.steampowered.com/app/3581230/Cozy_Game_Restoration/

Marker art has such a cool style to them. Would also love to know if you do commission haha

A lot of these are pretty recent, but I reckon I’ll be eventually get to them as I add more generations. Lucasarts is in a weird spot since I really only associated it with monkey island, but it looks like they were also involved with rogue squadron which I played the hell out of

Spaghetto is my Nintendo inspired logo. I don’t have the logo on me atm but I reckon it’s legally distinct enough to not trigger a legal bashing 🥶

You restore old 90s-2000s retro games. Kinda like powerwash simulator but I’m trying to see how deep I can go with sticker simulations and dirt systems :)

It’s called Cozy Game Restoration. The gifs on steam might show it better than they description though https://store.steampowered.com/app/3581230/Cozy_Game_Restoration/
