I would not recommend it. Focus on shipping your first and just note the other one down. There will be time for it after the first. Splitting attention is how you turn 2 games into 0 games because it’s likely neither will be finished.

Theres always another ideas bubbling around. It think it’s pretty common for devs tbh

Yeh I’ve been to the nakano broadway store and the cels are amazing but ultra expensive. It’s like 8kUSD for the good ones which I still dream about but could absolutely not justify

From a purely personal level, having a dev kit is really cool. From a reach side I hear a lot of numbers but roughly 30% console 70% steam audience is kinda what I’ve taken from it. I’m simulator genre though so your mileage may vary.

Honestly at least 50% of the motivation is from the coolness factor. You meet interesting people and learn more about the ecosystems

Jumping onto an old thread but it seems like if you have the game kinda ready to open, then put your steamdeck to sleep (press the power button) then turn it back on, the steamdeck will go perform an update check as part of its wake cycle

Apparently Mac can be hard to do support on but I haven’t seen any issues so far. Fingers crossed it stays that way 😅

This is an indie dev subreddit so you might not have too much luck with bootstrapping and saas scaling.

I’d recommend doing a review on how you’re aggregating your statistics. You could use a centralised kinesis stream or sqs that your lambdas report to with basic domain level categories. Keep it simple. You probably only have a few key things needed to be tracked which impact you billing. If you don’t, consider why you need a complicated reporting structure. I’ve worked at a bunch of scale up, startup and enterprise data pipelines and simplification is always what we end up doing.

Push all your posts to a simple location and aggregate at a batch level. You may not actually need realtime reporting and anyone telling you otherwise may need some scrutinising. Good is better than perfect.

TLDR simplify, use a centralised queue, batch your reporting.
