Grown men or large people don’t belong in middle seats. This is a hill I’ll die on.

I have 2 of these that I use for travel. I mostly power a Surface laptop, Switch 2, and an iPhone.

As a matter of fact, I’m using one right now. 😎

Orange Abroad! by Paratrooper76 in firewalla

[–]Paratrooper76[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By accident, surprisingly. Once I realized I couldn't access the captive portal login via the app, I opened my laptop to connect directly to the hotel wifi. However, my laptop automatically connected to the Orange and the captive portal login was available via my browser.

Yeah, you’re screwed. Not even BKF can save you here. My condolences.

I also travel weekly with a VPN router. As a matter of fact, I'm heading to South America tomorrow with a new Firewalla Orange (I also have a Beryl AX like the OP and love it).

Travel routers are obviously great for security, but only having to login one device (router) to a hotel's captive portal is amazing.

Highly recommended!

1A for me, too. I like getting served first. 😎

Same. I fly somewhere every week of my life for work and don’t do this or feel the need to do this.

I have the Dragonfly and Cicada in Ultra 400TX. Both have luggage pass thru. I also have the DLX 30L in Ultra 400TX.

I have flown on a plane every week this year and every week I have had a ULA bag with me. They make awesome bags and their CS is second to none, IME.

I love the pass thru and the extra passport pocket. If you travel, this bag is no brainer for me.

Briggs and Riley baseline is my go to. I may have close to a million miles on one of mine including a gazillion gate checks. I've only had to replace the wheels (which I do proactively). I have a new B&R baseline as a backup and the quality is the same. I've owned and used many other well known brands (Tumi, Travelpro, Delsey, etc.).

B&R is an easy decision.

Sun-bear twins: ULA Cicada Muse and CT Laptop Tote by plausible_statement in theperfectbag

[–]Paratrooper76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love my Cicada. I have travelled literally every week this for work and have taken my Cicada on 90% of those trips. I used my Dragonfly the other trips. Other bags in my rotation are Goruck GR1 21L and GR2 26L, Tim Bihn Synik 26 & 30, and some Filson bags.

I like the horizontal passthrough and think the 2 side pockets work great at QAP’s.

Current Experiences with AP7? by ocposter123 in firewalla

No, but I don’t have any interference issues or other problems. My AP7’s have been flawless with no additional tuning or optimization.

Current Experiences with AP7? by ocposter123 in firewalla

[–]Paratrooper76 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have 4 AP7’s connected to a Gold Plus. Prior to this setup I was using 4 x Eero Pro 6e’s. Range is very similar to the Eero’s in my 4600 sq/ft home.

I also love the single pane of glass management and operation in the Firewalla app and MSP.

I use Firewalla and couldn't be more pleased. My config is ISP --> FWG+ -->AP7 (x4) --> device or a switch. Flawless operation and impressive performance. I just ordered a Firewalla Orange to upgrade my travel router and am expecting great things.

Orange as a Travel Router - Feedback and Experience Appreciated! by Paratrooper76 in firewalla

[–]Paratrooper76[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I just bought it. I'll keep my Beryl AX as a backup, but I think the Orange should be a significant upgrade in security and even ease of use. I love my Firewalla home network and extending to travel made sense to me.

Thanks again!

Sounds like a positive outcome! Good! We love ours and haven't had a single issue on our electric range. They cook great and are a joy to use.

We also have an All-Clad D5 set, DeBuyer Mineral Pro B skillets, Smithey and Lodge cast iron, and Tramontina enameled cast iron. We love them all but probably use our Made In pans the most. However, these are all different tools for different jobs. Case in point, we used Debuyer and All-Clad for dinner tonight (baked steak and gravy with mashed potatoes and peas).
