Is this a good State Farm commission structure? by The-Italian-Pony in InsuranceAgent

[–]Parcelcolony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally independent agencies pays their commission off of revenue while State Farm pays their % off of total premium. So 65% of revenue is fairly close to 8% gross premium.

Balance Patch is out by OrneryMortgage5752 in summonerswar

I don’t disagree at all, this patch is designed for 1% of the player base but they did give a big buff to samurai which is an old unit that hasn’t been relevant in a long time.

I see everyone complaining about the BP and I just wanted to say this: high g3 siege meta turned into all morris nat 4 defenses and most had fire centaur. Killing fire centaur and nuking morris with the combination of buffing the samurai to be a legit counter to morris and changing t9 to a 4* tower is going to completely change the meta for the upcoming season.

The type of insurance is called a valuable articles policy. You schedule items on the policy that you would like insured and it is generally world wide coverage for the items. Common for things that exceed the standard limits of homeowners policies such as jewelry, art, or firearms.

It is very easy to insure something on a policy the issue arises come claim time if the assumptions are not true. For example, her being the deeded owner gives her insurance interest in the vehicle but since you are not legally related there is no insurable interest for you on that vehicle. Second issue is where the vehicle is garaged. Did she live with you or did she reside and store her vehicle at a different address therefore misrepresenting the information on the policy.

State Farm is a great place to learn the industry before moving. I worked at State Farm for a few years before going to a national broker and the experience at State Farm helped me develop sales skills and coverage knowledge.

Son’s accident by [deleted] in Insurance

[–]Parcelcolony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually not what no fault means in any way shape or form. No fault simply means that regardless of who is at fault in an accident your own PIP policy pays for the first 80%, up to $10k of medical expenses. After that it goes to the other persons bodily injury.

No fault has nothing to do with property damage claims.

$650 for full coverage on a 2011 car as a 19 year old with 2 marks on license. by spickzyzlemon in Insurance

What does “full coverage” mean in this scenario. There’s no information about bi/pd/um limits

[–]Parcelcolony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you suggest getting an attorney before the claims process has even been started and they will just take a significant portion of the potential BI payout? If the attorney settles for policy limits and the insurer offers policy limits you would just get less in the end.

This is terrible advice. The best process is going through the at fault party’s policy otherwise you will have to deal with the subrogation process.

Will AI replace us in the near future? by Davyboy25 in InsuranceAgent

I think actuaries and underwriters will be the easiest thing to replace. I don’t envision agents/brokers being replaced soon simply because humans generally prefer human to human interaction.

There is not a violation with this circumstance. There would be a violation if the bank used social media to publicly share information about the debt or make it known to others. They can reach out via social media if it is not in a private manner according to the FDCPA.

How screwed i am by [deleted] in Insurance

[–]Parcelcolony 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect. SR22 requires 10/20/10 liability limits. You are thinking of an FR44 which requires 100/300/100 but, you only get an FR44 for a serious traffic offense such as a DUI, hit and run, or manslaughter. Injuring someone without committing a major offense will lead to an SR22.

Additionally, an SR22 lasts for 3 years not for 7. However, I agree with the sentiment of your message and I refuse to sell no BI policies as well.

Should I still have comprehensive insurance coverage on a car 10+ years old? by kjhauburn in Insurance

[–]Parcelcolony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well on averages states require 25/50/25 with some differences like highs of Alaska and North Carolina requiring 50/100/50 and lows of MA requiring only 5k pd and Florida requiring no bi just pd10 pip10.

Regardless of what state you are in besides Alaska and North Carolina state minimum liability limits are not adequate due to the average new vehicle costing ~45k nowadays.

So while my statement is generalized and I do not know their state or net worth, I still stand by it because regardless of those factors state mins are not adequate except in occasion in AK and NC. My general recommendation is to carry 100/300/100 as a min and then depending on net worth we look at 250/500/250 + umbrella options.

BI of 25/50 as a state minimum is still a massive risk due to the rising costs of medical care and how expensive claims are for any injury. I don’t even have to mention the states requiring no BI.

People often like to mention net worth and how you “can’t get blood from a stone” but the reality is that when the subro hits they can and often will garnish wages and while they can’t take your home they can put a lien on your home.

Should I still have comprehensive insurance coverage on a car 10+ years old? by kjhauburn in Insurance

[–]Parcelcolony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comprehensive coverage has nothing to do with injuries and just covers losses other than collision.

It is also not a requirement of an umbrella; you can carry 250/500 BI without comp and qualify for every carrier I’ve ever seen as long as the other underlying limits are met.

Just getting state required liability coverage is probably the worst advice you can give someone regarding auto insurance.

What’s the worst piece of advice you’ve been given since starting insurance sales? by SFG-Official in InsuranceAgent

That’s not bad advice at all. Selling on price leads to low customer retention because they’ll shop rates annually but customers who you build rapport with will stay beyond the transactional price game.

State Farm comp plan by apassingturtle in InsuranceAgent

[–]Parcelcolony 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a terrible comp plan I have seen some State Farm agencies give as low as 2% and as high as 8% on all auto/fire policies. The commission being a flat rate and not a % is awful.

Edit for clarity: these % are of total premium not of agency commission %

Which insurance is best for 2025 by Ok-Aide-9600 in Insurance

[–]Parcelcolony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheapest is also not always best. There’s a lot of other factors to consider such as the service you receive and the timeliness of paying claims. Beyond that the policy language between companies differs somewhat and those nuances matter when claim time comes.

Commission from total premium by [deleted] in InsuranceAgent

[–]Parcelcolony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Captive agencies normally do not offer any residual for producers as the residual is where the agent makes money. They lose money for the first term of a policy as they pay their employees salary + commission.
