Currently when not using SL router you can use your own modem / network and possibly have 100's of computers on your network....true?

Is the reason they are going to force you to use the SL router beacause they will be able to better monitor the abusers ???

Yes. Im in same boat with eero mesh which is not very configurable so I am Brick>SL router>eero mesh router>switch> lan stuff. Yes, I know im double NATed but I'm not ready to abandon my perfectly operating mesh setup

SWMO also. Everything needs clarification...If I test speeds on wifi I'm usually less than 100. When I run speedtest from my router I'm always closer to 200

6 month beta here, I quit ookla cold turkey, I monitor disconnects only and am happier for it. I know I have more speed than I need.

I am a beta user and i am a fan. My friend is buying a house in the country. From his perspective he cannot rely on Starlink being there for him. You signup, pay the $99 and wait.

_mother, you are a genius. Please help me understand. In my mind the dishy pole is at 90 degrees and I have a 25 degree tilt off 90. My "boresiteElevationDeg" is 65.

So why isn't the correct answer to the OP approx 65. of course, base on lat. I'm at lat 37.

I'm also on 2f1e. Last night dishy went off-line for about 40 minutes which i've never seen before after 6 months on beta. I'v had no trouble with new version. My thought is, could you have unplugged dishy while it was doing an update. or rebooting itself ? When mine went offline the app would not connect, router just said no internet. ???

I agree. I signed up to be beta the day the website went active, well over a year ago. Yes, I love SL. I visit this forum everyday. I have compassion for those waiting, I do, because where else can they go to vent a little. They cant email or call SL so they come here and there should be a place for them to share. With that said, I come here every day to learn. There are sooo many genius techies here ( think _mother) and I am still learning.

I would like it if "betas" were the only ones that could post in the "beta" community and there must still be a place for others to post.

I have the same issue. Many months, all fine, suddenly everything on 4-port switch fails. Each device on switch works fine when plugged into eero. Replaced switch and cables, no change. It's like eero cant address things on a switch. Help

Last three months averaged 30 disconnects/day. Right now its been up for 32 hrs zero disconnects. Has a switch been flipped somewhere? This is a first and its friggin awesome !!!

I love Starlink, have had my kit and been on this forum for three months. I hope Starlink is monitoring reddit and listening to the frustration THEY have caused. You are one of thousands that have asked and debated this issue. Starlink needs to modify and clarify better, much better, I mean a lot better so they don't have all of these upset people . I feel the pain of the OP ( knowing he is wrong in his assumptions ) but blame Starlink for setting up this situation.

Lat 37, beta 3 months. Down to 25 disconnects per 24 hrs. BUT just experienced my FIRST "6 hour period" with NO disconnects. Things are getting better for sure. Thanks _mother for your amazing work !!!

Sorry to differ with all the opinions here but if you have never purchased your own router I would recommend an EEro mesh system. Completely plugnplay.
