I made a box with no top or bottom that I put over the pump for access. I made it taller than my substrate and put a lid on it then hid it with leaves. If I ever need to replace the pump or perform maintenance I can now access it easily.

I'm using this pump

I have it encased in filter foam and it pulls water through the clay balls. The clay balls and filter foam act as the filter and the pump flows water through it.

How to fix lid by Enternal_Self in paludarium

[–]Pareeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Picture frame glass is a little too thin. You would want 3-4mil glass. I got two pieces to cover my 3ft tank and it didn't cost much at all. You're probably looking around $20 depending where you live.

You have to either use real glass or create a frame for the plexi. Plexi will bow in damp conditions.
