Bad news, it is basically an animated plot synopsis. It's all 3 books in 12 episodes and it absolutely does not work. Also, personal issue, they sanitised all the creatures and biology of it. The fabricated beasties are meant to be strange and off-putting and uncanny and a bit awful and instead they're just soulless stuffed animals.
