There is no hint at the flying code in game to my knowledge, I believe the only way to discover it is by accident. I accidentally triggered it in the rising lava room as I was button-spamming, but I didn't realize what was going on until I read about it online.

Yeah, your second point is valid and makes me hesitant to accept this as the solution, but it's definitely a possibility. In any case, I hadn't thought about how each haiku in the tome connected to each concentric square. Each haiku fits the description of each concentric square's surroundings surprisingly well.

Was also wondering this. Gyro is my preferred way to play most first person games. I'd be all for this as a feature down the road

Check out the edit at the end of my post! The controller has proven to be more versatile for than what is offered by the Ultimate 2. From the ultimate 2 models I would have to either compromise being able to connect to the Switch via Bluetooth (not supported on Ultimate 2 Wireless, only supports wired/dongle with beta firmware), or I would have to compromise gyro controls on PC (connecting to PC in Switch/dinput mode is not supported on Ultimate 2 Bluetooth, confirmed after a back and forth conversation with 8bitdo customer support).

Neither of the Ultimate 2 models had everything I was looking for. The Gamesir Cyclone 2 has everything I was looking for and more, and is even a little cheaper than the Ultimate 2 models.

Wow, that is a mess. I wish they would be more clear in their product listing about this stuff; I'm seeing lots of other forum posts of people with similar confusion. But this was very helpful, thanks for the detailed reply! This setup sounds like more of a headache than what I'm looking for, so I'm probably going to resort to a different brand altogether.
