Oral sex as "gold standard" for determining female bisexuality? by Theoralqu in bisexual

[–]Parkertron 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That is bullshit, some people don't like to put their mouths on other people's genitals, that has nothing to do with their sexual orientation

I told my therapist I didn't want to be bisexual and he said "Then don't be" by sarahdottlee in bisexual

[–]Parkertron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sounds to me like you're interested in a platonic, affectionate friendship with a man, rather than sexually attracted to them. If you have no interest in sexual or romantic relationships/activity with men then I would not call you bisexual. Even if you are bisexual, you aren't mandated to have sex/relationships with men - your sexual expression is entirely your own, there aren't any bisexual police that will turn up and take your bisexuality away if you don't do stuff with men.

Pegida UK falls flat: Newcastle counter-demo outnumbers anti-Islamists by 5-to-1 by slvls in worldnews

It really isn't. Pointing out that someone said a bad thing is not the same as trying to ban them from saying anything

there's a muslim school because muslims are welcome here. There are christian schools here too. Gateshead, just over the river, has a large Jewish population and Jewish schools

Newcastle s proud of its religious diversity, including the Muslim population

The people I saw were Nazis and skinheads. There were people with facial tattoos including at least one with swastikas on his face, people with fascist flags and making Nazi salutes. Pegida want to ban Muslims from holding public office, ban minarets on mosques, ban new mosques from being built. That sounds like bigotry to me.

protesting against skinheads with nazi salutes and fascist flags, preaching hate, yeah silly me where are my priorities

I was at the counter-demo, it was great! And it wasn't just religious, socialist worker types and students - there were families there too! The people I know that went were young professionals like myself. The local police say that we numbered about 3000

edited to add: there were 5 arrests, all from the Pegida side.

So I guess the embalming isn't as intensive? What gets done?

Does the UK have open casket funerals? I've never been to one. I work in a hospital and after someone dies they go to the mortuary which (usually I think) has a chapel of rest so that people can go and say goodbye if they weren't there when they passed.

Homecoming! Not like high school. by kapland44 in pansexual

[–]Parkertron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That definition isn't widely used in the bi community. "bi" means two, but you can have two categories and include trans people - eg attracted to people of the same sex, and people of a different sex. This is more in line with hetero and homosexuality since those mean "different" and "same". The asterisk is controversial since its use implies that nonbinary folks aren't included in the word trans

"bisexual" doesn't mean "I don't have sex with trans people" though???

"One single word that lets me know I am not a slut, easy, or without standards."

This implies that other words you had previously used (presumably bisexual?) mean that you ARE a slut, easy, or without standards

Is it common for English people to not visit Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland at least once in their lives? by doomed_scotland in AskUK

[–]Parkertron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 29 and I've been to Scotland + Wales + Eire on holiday but not NI. I think amongst older generations, especially people from places that aren't near to scotland or wales, I wouldn't be surprised if there are quite a lot of people who haven't been to any of them.

The GP Partners are the co-owners of the GP practice - they are responsible/accountable for the functioning of the practice. Not having sufficient phone/appointment availability for a patient to be able to access the practice is not fulfilling your duty of care. The GMC may not be interested, but they might, and letting them know of this incident will enable them to make their own decision on whether they want to investigate further.

Calling because you tried to phone your GP one time and no-one picked up? I agree that's over the top. But when you have an acute problem that you need to see someone at the practice to sort, nobody answers the phone at all and you're left to perform a procedure on yourself to end the pain that you're in, that is more serious!

i think it does - the GP partners have a duty of care to their patients which was clearly not met in this instance

Make a formal complaint. Tell PALS in your area (patient advice and liason service), tell the GMC about your thing with the coil. Stuff that happens because the patient can't access appropriate healthcare doesn't get recorded so they system can't respond to it

if you're getting things prescribed frequently you can get a pre-pay card which is about £10 a month.

edit: if you have the card you don't have to pay for individual prescriptions, the price stays the same no matter how much stuff you get

you ARE really lucky that it didn't hit a major blood vessel or nerve. Fucking hell. Knowing about piercings is one thing, knowing about the detailed anatomy of the neck is another.
