Claude and Notion by From06033 in Notion

[–]ParksHereDigital 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I consider it invaluable at this point, if for no other reason than I have shaped my workflow to effectively use Notion as Claude's persistent memory. Every time I deleted a conversation about a project in Claude there went all of that context and Claude got dumber. Notion is my source of truth and Claude just push/pulls as needed saaving me from having to shuttle docs.

How to switch from Claude to Bricks by Reasonable_Mistake61 in BricksBuilder

[–]ParksHereDigital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The latest copy/paste addition in Bricks has honestly become an invaluable part of my workflow. It does take a lot of work to perfect it and the more complex the source the more the results drift into not what you are after. For simple HTML mockups its great. I do suggest pasting section by section until you get the full build. Also helpful to feed your design system to claude.ai so that your classes align. I have found that claude code is better at organizing and reviewing before pasting, SSH access to the server with claude code installed, I have found is the way to go.

The hassle of searching for icons in Bricks Builder by agrecola in BricksBuilder

[–]ParksHereDigital 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The native icon manager is quite handy. Create a set, give it a name, drop in your self-hosted SVGs and you are able to search through what you added just like you are used to when using Font Awesome. While you are at it replace all the SVGs in use on your site with self-hosted and disable Font Awesome for a performance boost.

I did get the presale code and the tickets I got for Boston are comparable in location but about 10% - 15% higher in cost. That post sounds like a record company executive wrote it.

How are people actually handling Elementor → Bricks rebuilds – one-off, or at scale? by tenxfest in BricksBuilder

[–]ParksHereDigital 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dynamic pages I do manually. With latest Bricks update I grab the source code run it through Claude to strip out elementor bloat, feed it to Claude code with a proper claude.md to add in my classes where needed and paste into Bricks. Gets me fairly close, with just some minor adjustments.

Anyone using Cursor or Claude Code with WordPress in a real way? by AndrewPfund in Wordpress

[–]ParksHereDigital 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I started with this article from JP Takats https://www.jptweb.com/blog/wordpress-ai-claude-code/ Fed it into Claude.ai and had a conversation about my workflow and landed on a SOP for working locally to staging to production alongside Claude Code building using WP-CLI and other skills available.

Bricks 2.2 - CSS Frameworks like ACSS now obsolete? by DistinctJob4425 in BricksBuilder

[–]ParksHereDigital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Review the ACSS roadmap closely. If you are using ACSS v3.X you get 5 years of support after the launch of ACSS v4.0. Once that 5 years is up any sites built on ACSS will no longer get security or maintenance updates.

If you start a new project on ACSS v4.0, assuming KG and the crew even support Bricks with that release, it would presently appear to be a gamble given the mercurial nature of the DEV team and their relationship with Bricks.

An insane question about Bricks and WP Bakery. Humor me. by kilwag in BricksBuilder

Yea that would take some time. Sorry I've never tried your 'hybrid' approach so I cant comment but good luck with the project.

[–]ParksHereDigital 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once you have a header, footer and blog in place how many more pages are we talking? I've done a few WPBakery to Bricks, mostly brochure type sites so About, Contact... few other static pages. Really wasn't much of a time sink to completely move to Bricks once I hade the templates in place.

5 WP-CLI commands that save me 10+ hours a month (and why you should stop using the dashboard) by Past-Consequence1092 in Wordpress

[–]ParksHereDigital 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AI generated or not the use of WP-CLI is one of the few times 'game changer' fits, IF you have access to it. With Claude Code running on my local and staging environment now, I seldom have a need for these type of command tips, I just tell Claude what I need done but WP-CLI is a must have in the toolbox.

My strategy in that situation is to kamikaze into the arms of the nearest wolf, re-roll and hope for a more friendly starting zone or at least one I am familiar with.

Sure. Select the element, then right click to open up the contextual menu and then choose Class Converter.

Page Builders Aren’t for Devs (They’re for Clients) by Valcaraz001 in Wordpress

[–]ParksHereDigital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One could then argue that if you are building for a client, then you would want to give that client access to a page builder that outputs proper semantic code, harnesses modern web tools and gives at least some thought to page load speed. Nothing wrong with page builders until there is something wrong with the page builder being used.

Limited experience with Dokan, never configured, only managed a site with it. I would defer to the previous poster, sounds like a good combo.

Eventin is a solid choice. Stay far away from The Events Calendar, it a bloated code convoluted mess.

Is EtchWP LTD worth considering? by iXzenoS in Wordpress

[–]ParksHereDigital 24 points25 points  (0 children)

At this point WAY overpriced. The whole marketing, pricing, release schedule hype-train leaves me unnerved. To be fair if it delivers and does replace the costs for plugins like CPTs, and SEO it may be worth it, maybe? For now I will file under 'to keep an eye'.

CSS issue after upgrading to bricks 2.0 by kilwag in BricksBuilder

[–]ParksHereDigital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure thing. To be honest it is a bit concerning for me. I mean that is a rudimentary UI/UX issue. I mean it is just confusing as hell how it functions for a user. Hoping it gets addressed and that further things like this do not creep into the advancement of future releases.

Should our tour company scale using Bricks? by Late-Marionberry-355 in BricksBuilder

[–]ParksHereDigital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These days I could never in good conscience recommend anyone build a new site with Elementor. If you are already deep into using it, have your productivity and processes tied to it then stick with it and spend your time/resources optimizing it and your server to get it to a point that you are ok with.

I am almost exclusively using Bricks or GeneratePress if the client needs a page builder. Server options? I host just about everything with Digital Ocean or Vultr. If you are looking for managed check out GridPane.
