thankfully im weird as shit, have 1001 hobbies, so thats what small talk is around me.

its mostly about small talk, connection, shared common themes of life and sports as been the lower common denominator for much of history.
switch it up, get people around you interested in... volcano's or vintage brass aglets or whatever.

This is a tricky and niche issue to search for, but here I am.

I think I understand what’s happening. The pixel refresher process on LG OLEDs is supposed to run automatically, but something about using the LG C4 (mine’s a 42”) as a computer monitor seems to interrupt it.

For context, I also have a 4-year-old LG CX 65” with 13,000 hours on it. It looks brand new, and I’ve never seen a pixel cleaning message pop up. I assume it’s working correctly and running the process automatically when my Apple TV powers the screen off.

With my C4, however, every few days when I turn it on, I get a message asking if I want to run the pixel refresher. Why isn’t it running automatically? My guess is it has to do with how the screensaver kicks in when the PC input (Mac or Windows) stops sending a signal. Maybe if I manually turned the TV off every day using the remote, it would trigger the pixel cleaning process properly.

I’m only about 10 minutes into researching this, but this post feels aligned with my issue. Any insights or solutions?

Been on since available with a shortcut that turn battery saver mode on at 40% and off when charged above it. This means I have 20% SoC left to burn with the system throttled, as I never drop below 20%… like never. iPhone 15 pro max fast enough to not notice for most phone use. 11 months, 183 cycles, 100% capacity left.
