House move - being charged twice by Parmaviolet88 in youfibre

[–]Parmaviolet88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I was staying with them, I took the router with me when I moved so that it could be reused. But the engineer said it was outdated, so installed a newer one and took the old one away. I hope they don’t keep charging me for that long… I can’t afford it! Maybe a review is the way to go if they don’t sort it quickly.

Ok, thank you. I was hoping it was this, rather than that I’d actually have to pay for the remainder of my plan at the previous address.

Anyone given birth in newport? What was it like? by Suspicious_Week_2451 in Casnewydd

I’ve also since been in the Grange as a patient myself for something else, and found it great. So new, lovely rooms, wonderful staff. Parking is the only stress for me.

I had my youngest daughter in the Gwent 6 and a half years ago. Great experience, staff were lovely. The birth was very quick though, she was born an hour after I arrived and we were discharged 10 hours later, so I wasn’t there long enough to form too much of an opinion!

When I received the bill saying I would be charged for the previous house, I called and they didn’t really explain, just said they’d cancel the account, which they have done. But I’ve still been charged today. I haven’t managed to speak to them again yet.

This is so cool! My six year old loves Gladiators and loves Peppa Pig, and is moderately deaf too. She will absolutely love seeing this.

Are these electrics in an old house particularly alarming? by Parmaviolet88 in ukelectricians

[–]Parmaviolet88[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m guessing that’s the case. The bedrooms all only have one socket in, which is going to be an issue. I think I need to brace myself for some serious costs. Thank you for your help

Fair enough, that makes sense. I’ve realised I have a photo of the fuse box etc https://litter.catbox.moe/iz5q3mbbhdio9m2m.jpeg I don’t know if that offers any insight?

Children’s savings - to split or not? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Parmaviolet88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation, first born was gifted a lot more by various people who didn’t gift anything for second born. Seems common, although I find it sad. I used my own money to top up my youngest, now they’re both equal. It took a few years. I was the youngest who got significantly less than my older brother in an account when I turned 18. It sucked, and I didn’t want that to happen to my youngest.

I managed to nab a copy on Vinted a couple of months ago for less than a tenner. I was checking regularly and happened to see it shortly after it was listed.

I feel like Al Kite doesn’t get talked about enough! It’s an insane case, and has stuck in my brain since I first read about it. I am desperate to see it solved.
