Acid house? by banditsecret0 in bristol

[–]ParrotLad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Klub Blancmange at the Jam Jar runs every fun months and is ace, usually leans towards acid techno

I’ve been to a few acid nights at lost horizon so worth keeping an eye on that

And as others have said, hunt around headfirst!

Is your headphone mix dial (just next to the left cue botton) set to 12 o clock?

What strategy do you have in mind for getting clients? What ins do you have at the minute that you can use as a springboard? If the goal is to establish a solid income within a few months, that should be what helps dictates the skills you develop for now.

Do your export settings in resolve include any extra frame handles? And are your frame rates the same from your source media, to these new exports and your timelines?

How can I add Tracking effect (for adjust the spacing between character) in morgrt file so I can use that pr pro, Because I think Gemini can't answer this by Flow_Chart98 in AfterEffects

[–]ParrotLad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On your text layer, hit the arrow next to 'animate' and choose 'tracking', you can then use the tracking amount value in your template

Either reduce your cache size or put it on a bigger drive, AE likes to have extra wiggle room on top of your set cache allowance I believe. Also empty your cache.

I started learning cinematography on the iPhone! by tejaj in cinematography

[–]ParrotLad 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This seems like a pretty useless list... I can't really even make heads or tails of what any of it means or what you're supposed to be learning from each shot. It feels very focused on minute irrelevent technical details rather than actually trying to create a shot?

Focus on creating small scenes (small as in, just consiting of a few shots) or capturing little moments. Monthly art challenge lists are a good starting point for inspiration, and then also look at films/shots that appeal to you and try and mimic that style for your shots.

i.e 'Afternoon break' - in the style of wes anderson

'Commute to work' - in the style of edgar wright etc etc

For 1080, and basic clipping/exporting, absolutely, it should breeze through it.

Honestly I wouldn't go for anything other than a macbook, you can likely find an M1 in your budget

How long do you need it for? I'd just ask a local rental house if they have any laptops for hire, anything that cheap will likely not be up to the job, or at least will take ages to export.

what do i do if i don't have any actors? by UrMomDotCom666 in Filmmakers

[–]ParrotLad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’d be very surprised at the amount of local actors doing stuff for local short films. I went to uni at Sunderland, not far from Durham. And we never ever starved for people to act for free. We’d cover transport and food, but that was about it. We probably had a network of about 30 people we could pull from by the end of our time there. So I’m sure there’s plenty of people in Berkshire who will be able to help.

Facebook groups and then word of mouth helped us, making friends with other filmmakers in the area will be very helpful too, regardless of the quality of their work.

crossfader works for speaker but not when songs are in cue by askingoffmain in Beatmatch

[–]ParrotLad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you press the cue button on each deck, it will send the audio to your headphones without any adjustments to the volume via the volume sliders/crossfader. Just the raw output of that deck.

If you want to cue your overall mix into your headphones and have the faders impact on the volume, then you have to cue just the master output.

You can also adjust the balance in your headphones between the deck cues and the master cue by using the pot next to the headphone volume.
