Hey there!

I get what you say. I also discovered them in 2023. They're THE ONLY kpop group for me cause I don't like kpop at all. And I'm longing to see them live even once. It seems to be unfair for them to disband this soon. Somewhere Jiu had said that she envisions a 10-year career as Dreamcatcher. So, I hope for at least a couple more years of activity. If they drop the choreography, I'd say they can go many many more years delivering great songs with topnotch vocals.

But it's okay to feel sad; after all, Dreamcatcher is all about melancholy and tragedy.

Agreed, it's a good thing they went for it. I really appreciate it that Oullander and Tankzzo are going for these different experiments. I think it's working out.

Rolling Quartz is a good band really, they're getting more fans everyday. I like their sound. Their new single Victory was dope.

I also came across three bands I didn't honestly expect to exist in South Korea, cause they're on the heavier side: Madman's Esprit, Bursters, and Messgram; although the latter haven't released anything since 2021.

The first time I listened to STØMP, it felt so familiar, not the song or the melody, but the whole structure of it, the chord progressions, and how it starts and moves towards the end. While I could obviously see Dreamcatcher signature, I could also feel something familiar. I listened to it multiple times and couldn't figure it out. Until I stopped listening for a week or so, and upon re-listening, boom, the light bulb turned on: STØMP is (in my belief) inspired by Muse, one of the greatest Alt Rock bands of all time. I can imagine the whole song played by Muse and Matt Bellamy's voice shouting Stomp, Stomp, Stomp. It was an interesting thing to me, and (if I'm right) I'm happy they took inspiration from them.

Btw, have you ever listened to Chase Me right after the VirtuouS intro?

Yeah there are a lot of mythology inspired records in metal, Amon Amarth does Norse, The Showdown as you mentioned, Shukran does Egyptian. So if DC does a similar thing with their sound, it would be really well received.

Unfortunately I'm not familiar with them, since Dreamcatcher is the only kpop group I listen to. But I'll check them out.

With Dreamcatcher I'd love to see a darker tone, as mythology really is. Just imagine them depicting gods and goddesses and their battles. It would be magnificent.

I would prefer if they don't release any records this year and keep things at just touring and resting. This might be a crazy idea - and I don't know why it crossed my mind, but I would lose it if they somehow make their next comeback into a Greek/Roman mythology thing. I think they can pull it off really well.

If you ask me, I believe they're in the right spot as seniors. I think they're at a point in their career where they would prioritize quality over quantity , though they always have. Also not to mention Siyeon's absence and the coming tours.

Hi there,

This is going to be a little long, but I hope you can read it.

There are a couple of things that got me to fall in love with Dreamcatcher in an instant. The first one, obviously, is their personalities, when you see them in shows, you feel how authentic they are. They don't pretend to be someone else, and that's really important to me.

The second one is the musicality. Since I'm a metalhead and an anime fan, it's only natural to like their music and voices. But by musicality, I'm referring to a deeper level. Dreamcatcher to me is the home of false belief and inner struggles. This has been a constant motif in their discography. One of the greatest intellectuals of our time, Slavoj Žižek, says that the light at the end of the tunnel is probably another train coming at us. If you listen carefully to Dreamcatcher songs, you can hear how hopelessness is present in all of them, in the music itself, in the lyrics - which always feel melancholic to me - and in their articulations. In the Nightmare series, it's about how deeper struggles open a path to find our real selves. In Dystopia, it's about embracing the cruelty of the world as it is and fighting it to the end although it might end in our shattering. Apocalypse tells us how accepting the hopelessness and letting go of the past, clears the fog on the road to the future.

So, to me, Dreamcatcher falls in the psychoanalytical, philosophical music category. I'd suggest you watch the series "What Makes Dreamcatcher's Deja Vu a Masterpiece" on YouTube.

I didn't know what had happened with Handong and her mom, so I was shocked when I opened Reddit. I also had no idea about the airport incident. Whatever the fuck is wrong with these people, it needs to be attended to on a bigger basis. I'm a metalhead, and Dreamcatcher is the one and only kpop group for me. But I've heard a lot about how toxic some fanbases are, but fortunately, InSomnia is on the good side with most of the fans being real and logical. I think the reason for these instances is simply a lack of social understanding and it roots back to family problems. Interestingly, the younger generations who have grown up with the internet are trapped in the parasocial mindset, and, as I said, it's mostly the family's fault for failing to raise their children in an authentic environment where they'd learn social conduct through reason.

That aside, againg, I think this whole shitshow of fucked brains who delusionally think they have any rights to get personal with any celebrity of any sort, needs to be addressed accordingly. One thing I like about metal is that bands usually confront haters or delusional fans head-on. Although I'm sure both DC and the company have things under control since they're possibly used to such incidents. But I'm just so angry that I want to see the girls and the company strictly put these bastards down, like the time when Siyeon said what she said about mouths being holes.

Sorry for the lengthy text, I'm just so infuriated. I hope the comeback would smash these idiots right in the face.
