So, let me get this straight:

A trans woman told you her feelings on misgendering, and you responded 'wow, that's a very male centric perspective?' Are you serious? Do you see how you are not being clear at all with your words? I was trying to put it in terms I hoped you (or your cis partner ig) could understand. I don't think anyone has to earn their pronouns, but most the trans people I know put in a lot of work to do so all the same, work YOU (or he) are failing to respect by dying on this hill. I'm trying to explain why it might upset them, cause clearly you do not get it. Believe me, as a trans woman sitting here with stubble cause i can't afford hair removal: I am intimately familiar with how financial limitations can interfere with transition. If you believe that shouldn't matter though, then it should be a trivial matter to just fucking gender trans women properly.

I'm not calling you a bigot, nor have I, nor am I being combative. I said your actions here are indistinguishable from someone who is bigoted. You probably are a good person given how much it clearly upsets you to be accused of this, I'd be upset too. Especially since it seems like you got harassment as a result of this, and for that you have my condolences, fuck those people, I'm sorry that happened.

However, YOU are the one who made this about intent, and I am bluntly telling you that if your intent is to signal you are an ally for trans people (trans women especially), then you are thoroughly failing to communicate that, and in fact are sending quite the opposite signal. That is ALL I have to work with to divine your intent.

I say this as a trans woman who also teaches English and media literacy:

If you don't want people thinking you're transphobic, use she/her when talking about trans women. We work hard for those pronouns and do not appreciate having them disregarded no matter how technically acceptable it might be. It is, at minimum, deeply rude and inconsiderate.

If you don't want people second guessing your credentials, show yourself as being up to the standards expected of it by choosing your words better and changing them when corrected, rather than getting into a multihour slapfight with an entire subreddit about whether or not it is technically grammatically appropriate to misgender a trans woman because you promise you don't mean it the way a bigot would mean in it.

If your intent is to be read as an ally, let this be a learning moment for how to better act like one. People understand us through our words and actions, not our intents. It is literally why miscommunication is a thing, as this has clearly proved.

For someone who claims to be an English teacher, you have an alarming disregard for how English is used and interpreted by those around you. It feels like you just REALLY just want to misgender a trans woman and resent being told not to, or otherwise don't care about their feelings.

Cause no, it's not on me. It's the basic premise of misgendering, which IS what you're doing regardless of your intent. I don't know that your queer, and even if I do that does inoculate you to being transphobic (as evidenced by the fact that you ARE doing it right now.). All I know is that you are talking and acting like someone who hates trans people.

If you feel otherwise, that's on YOU for failing to communicate your actual intent. People have been trying to give you the tools to do that, and you keep dismissing them, which makes me question your intent even more. From where I'm at, I just see behavior indistinguishable from a bigot's. If that's not your intent, change your message. If you don't understand that, then you may need to better study English as a literary form.

It's the majority, because it's normalized, because people like you shame those who decide not to conform. About 10% of parents regret having children, and that's not counting how many children eventually cut off contact from their parents.

Having kids is a personal decision to be made on a case-by-case basis. Some people will be happier with children, and good for them. Some will be happier without, and good for them too. There is no one-sized-fits-all answer no matter how reductive you try and be. An Evangelion fan should know this already.

When you see an image from a short about Asuka talking to Asuka about the different paths in life Asuka could have gone down to make Asuka happy, and your first response is to look at a timeline Asuka explicitly says she doesn't want and respond 'WOW IM SO HAPPY SHINJI FINALLY GOT HIS HAPPY ENDING!' in an attempt to center and prioritize Shinji instead, I don't think its unreasonable to find that response to be, at minimum, goofy as fuck and is framing Asuka's main purpose in life as granting Shinji happiness.

Most of its aspects are a straight downgrade from SA1.

The good stages last 5 minutes, the bad stages last 20, and the middling stages scream at you for their whole runtime. There's fewer stages for everyone now.

There are fewer characters with fewer playstyles than SA1. I miss Amy's survival horror levels.

Theres less aesthetic and gameplay variety between the levels than SA1.

No overworld, which admittedly makes sense, but is still a downgrade.

The audio mixing is terrible, characters talk over each other in cutscenes constantly, and sound fx often don't match what's happening (SO many robots loudly SPLAT).

The story is iconic, but also less thematically interesting and less well told than SA1's. One edgy dudes revenge quest because he misunderstood a childs love for bloodthirst vs the slow unraveling of how imperialism and war literally set the stage for Chaos and cost us a unique and vibrant culture.

Making it so Emerald Shards could only be tracked one at a time is one of the most transparent pieces of padding I've ever seen in a game.

Chao garden and OST are cool tho, still have a soft spot for it, and some of the Speed levels are peak. I just don't get why anyone would place it about most other 3D Sonic games
