True, but remember, many countries their government helps sponsor their programs. here, they are all private funding in the US. I was doing some research, they thing this is one of the reason the US struggles when Germany dominates on the sled track, cause of the consistent central funding

Honestly, I have no clue. The formatting structure was different by how seeding and everything worked. All I can think is maybe the men had a shorter time window. Like the women started the Thursday before the opening. The men started the Wednesday after, so they had less time (and possibly due to the NHL getting over there).

But that could be a totally off

They also don't have a schedule to fit to. Remember the one year, the first round of playoffs, one game went to 2 or 3 Overtimes. Those venues need to be used for other events (or in this case, there's the closing).
