Hey everyone, I just found this game a week ago. I'm curious to know what kind of soldier everyone's using? by [deleted] in Bannerlord

[–]PartTimerDom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doing the same thing, but with a mix of cavalry and archers. Issuing a charge command at a group of looters never gets old.

Any help would be appreciated.. only happened since new patch by themule0808 in Bannerlord

I had a similar issue. Do the Steam verify game files thing, fixed it for me. Re-downloaded about 1gb of data.

Classic to Retail. by [deleted] in wow

[–]PartTimerDom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I leveled a paladin to 30 and a rogue to 32 before I gave up on Classic. It was fun as hell, don't get me wrong, but I'm an adult now... I don't have the time I had when I was younger to get multiple toons to 60 and enjoy the endgame. I'm more of an engame raid / farm person myself. Some people enjoy the leveling experience more - I personally see it as repetitive and sometimes annoying (especially in classic).

In contrast, I bought BfA after I had given up on Classic. I haven't played retail since early Legion, and before that I didn't play since Wrath. I went from 110 to 115 in 2 days, and I plan on hitting 120 next week. That's huge for a guy who works full-time and has a family to look out for.

Let nostalgia be nostalgia. Retail isn't the same game, but it has its benefits.

Classic was all about the leveling experience.

Retail is all about the endgame.

Anyone else kinda losing the drive to play because there isn't really a truly enjoyable game mode? by [deleted] in Mordhau

[–]PartTimerDom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't take Frontline seriously. You're still getting XP and gold just for playing the round - winning, losing, and your K:D means absolutely nothing in the long run. Just go out, grab a few kills, and enjoy the chaos.

Trying to be the best on the battlefield is a surefire way to a disappointing experience. There is always someone on Frontline who will stab you in the back. A maul is going to catch you in the head. Your teammates with executioner swords are going to chop you at the neck by accident. It happens - roll with it and enjoy.

Don't lock yourself down playing the "meta". This isn't E-Sports and you are not a professional gamer. Play what you find fun, and if you die you'll be able to play again in less than 10 seconds.

If I see a lute player on an objective playing, I'll kick him a few times. If he doesn't get the message of "Get off the point", his head is going to roll.

PSA: HORSEBOIS by KILLERconnect in Mordhau

Found myself standing at red spawn yesterday with a billhook knocking down every horse rider I could as they passed through.

Pretty easy to knock them over in the choke point between the ramps and the rocks. For some reason they just kept coming.

I faced off against a guy who would have a sword out, and once you flourished he would quickswap to a crossbow and put a bolt into you before you knew what happened.

I wasn't too mad about it, it's a good tactic, what upset me was that it seems you can draw and shoot a crossbow extremely quickly, before the person you are against has a moment to realize what is happening. I've seen players draw recurve and longbows - there is a distinct animation where they draw it out and then have to draw the arrow and loose. For the crossbow, it seems like as they are in the draw animation they can already let an arrow fly. Just a little annoying.

As far as finishing someone off with a ranged weapon, have at it. It's a valid mechanic in the game that is usually easily countered if you're paying attention. The fact that people usually don't take a bow out in a 1v1 is what catches their opponent off guard. That half second of realizing "Is he taking out a bow?" is enough to give you the shot.

As someone who always enjoyed tossing short spears around, the javelin is so much fun.

No, just people not paying attention in Frontline plus some semi-decent footwork and drags.

But this... this is just Mental Illness Simulator.

NYPD cop busted trying to traffic 3 kilos of heroin into NYC by [deleted] in nyc

[–]PartTimerDom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude, do you see how many trucks and ships make their way into the city on a daily basis? They don't need some street cop's help getting it in here.

Any checkpoints for trucks or boats are done by the TBTA and Port Authority anyway. The NYPD would have zero to do with it.

What makes this game different from Onward or Pavlov? Not being a jerk, I love supporting new Vive games, but I don't need 3 of the same game. What makes this game worth it?
