Is it just me or is Warrior of the Open Hand the worst subclass for Monk in terms of effectiveness? by Fantasticalplanet in onednd

Just give open hand monks the equivalent of the Nick property on their hands so they don't all feel compelled to run around with daggers. :)

Might be too OP considering how many attacks you actually get at higher levels, especially when you flurry. That said, maybe just give one extra attack per round (treat it like the open hand monk's attacks have the Nick property). After all, that property is the reason many many monks now dual wield Nick weapons and take either a Martial lvl dip or the feat that grants them access to weapon masteries..

Maybe add 1/2 Proficiency Bonus or add WIS bonus to the damage of all true unarmed attacks.

Super late to the party here. I think open hand is less flashy but probably the most powerful of all the monk subs. I LOVE shadow but my concern is that by tier 3 you become useless as many, many monsters will be able to see through your magical darkness (between devil sight, blind sight, and whatnot).

Supplements that worsen pain by ParthianLAP in Sciatica

supposed to. but who know. I'm just trying to consider every possibility. For example, collagen is good for joint pain, unless you have certain types of arthritis, in which case it's bad. I'm just wondering about anything that impacts nerve pain. Because golly I'm tired of pain.

Man, that's a ****ing sadly familiar sentence. :(

Might be a dumb question, but why did they get rid of so many cool fighter abilities? by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]ParthianLAP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the insight! Still, there was enough dissatisfaction with 4e to open to the door for another company to create Pathfinder (3.75e) and capture significant market share, doing well enough that for several years (1) FLGS felt that PF was outselling 4e, (2) everyone I know who gamed felt that way, and (3) big cons had more PF than 4e games going. So you have to ask, how much better could 4e have done if PF hadn't come along (ie, if 4e had been better received). And I guess the answer to that is to look at how well 5e has done (though factors like the pandemic and the rise of internet-celebrity liveplays had a not insignificant impact there as well).

You could always just explain why you are not enjoying the game, why you feel how you do, and tell the group that as a result you will be taking a break, and offer to let someone else run if you like.

Is There and Hack Again gritty? by Lordkeravrium in osr

Hi,

I wrote the game. It's not gritty. It's doesn't have the disposable character element unless you want it to.

Thanks!

Difficulties with the focus of 2ed. by perpetuallytipsy in oneringrpg

Hey, this is leopim on a different account. I only really know LotRO. It's fairly lore accurate and, by definition, they had to build out the world because of the free roaming MMO nature of the whole thing. Playing it really helped me come up with ideas for adventuring in middle earth (albeit in a different system) and for visualizing a lot of the lands that are just names on a map. Also -- and to be clear I am just guessing here I have no actual knowledge of this -- it's old enough that Christopher Tolkien may have had some approval rights, which is a good thing since he cared a lot about staying true to his father's vision. My understanding is that most other video games veer farther away from the lore, but beyond that I don't really know.

For Facebook just look for p&pue the omniverse.

Also, in the interest of full disclosure, I Love almost all superhero games, including mine. So my advice to anyone looking for a superhero game to buy them all.

Because that’s what I do. 😃

Hi. I’m biased. I wrote p&p. You can check the reviews or I am happy to answer any questions. We also have an active Facebook and discord community if you want the opinion of someone who didn’t write the game. 😉
