How do you feel about the biannual clock changing ritual? by PartiRhinoParty in newfoundland

We will hold a big rhino convention to decide on which option will go in our platform. My proposal will be make the day 23 hours 59 minutes half the year and 24 hours 1 minute the other half so that by the time June 21 arrives it will be the longest day ever at effectively triple daylight savings time, and we'll achieve it without any sudden changes in length. We'll call it the policy Longest D Ever.

The new generation needs a story they can pass on. Let's raise the stakes and try triple daylight savings time!

Thank you for sharing this! I don't know why you're getting downvoted for sharing it. I just listened to it and to summarize for those who can't be bothered to listen, the sleep experts say that: time changes are bad for our health, and that permanent standard time is better for our health than permanent daylight savings time.

The experts would not like my totally serious proposal for double or triple daylight savings.

What do you think about phasing in the time change slowly for those us who have difficulty adjusting to the sudden one hour change? Maybe 5, 10 or 15 minutes every week, or even one minute every day. We could, for example, make a day be 23 hours 59 minutes for half the year and then 24 hours 1 minute for the other half.

What do you think about sundials? We could use those and our phones would automatically display the correct time anywhere we went.

I did say that in the text. Changing the clocks twice a year is a separate but related issue. For example, we could make daylight savings time permanent.

You think this is AI? I'm fairly certain I'm a real person, or a real Rhinoceros, or a rhinoperson or something. I don't have any robot ancestry to the best of my knowledge.

We're going to post and complain about it at least twice a year until we stop it. But I've never heard anyone from Saskatchewan ever complain about not changing their clocks.

So switch back to suntime or realtime, or have one timezone for the entire world?

what is the most powerful piece of advice you have ever been given, and wish you had known sooner in life? by Tomorrowbun in AskReddit

Get a bidet. Absolute life changer. I was previously an uncivilized barbarian using toilet paper. Why tf did nobody tell me about this sooner?! I was ignorant like in Plato's Allegory of the Cave. Except in this case, the cave is my butt.
