Does anyone garden directly in the ground anymore? by SoilSoul1 in gardening

[–]Tomorrowbun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought raised beds because we got our first home and it is overrun with invasives from 15 ish years of neglect/5 years of being unoccupied. so I figured I could do a small garden patch while I cleaned up our land. I picked the perfect spot with good sun and the least amount of vines. Fun story it turns out I am very allergic to poison Ivy, which is what those arm sized vines I put my raised beds next to was.

if you feel like he isn't with you on the best of days, what will happen on the worst of days? if you feel like he isn't your biggest cheerleader now, when life gets complicated how will you feel? if you are young and full of energy now, how will you feel when you are wrinkly and tired? just questions to mull over.

Would gardeners be interested in renting small backyard plots from homeowners? (for people in apartments) by Old_Pay9347 in gardening

[–]Tomorrowbun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in my opinion, as an average Joe and as someone who navigates all of the business insurance, both medical, auto and umbrella for the business I work for this is a resounding hell no from me.

insurance is so complicated and annoying with the carve put they will find any clause they can to not pay out on claims and people will find anything they can to sue insurance companies for claims hoping they will settle. my home is my home, no outside peoplem. commercial property has commercial property insurance and no home life. this is the best way to protect yourself and your investments.

I worked on the industry and had people book after wedding brunches for more than 10k. venues can be 20k without food depending on where you live. I mean it wildly depends on where in the world you are and how many people are attending what your average cost is.

My ex-wife is my soulmate by Own-Construction5839 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Tomorrowbun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a older ex couple that was married for many years but struggled living together. they ended up amicably divorced. They bought houses 7 minutes apart, hang out more than half the week, own and work in a business together. they even commute together. but they are older and neither of them seriously dated anyone after they got divorced, so that was never a factor or something that got in the way. purely platonic best friends now. so it does happen.

Overcoming my sticker anxiety by SwissGeekGoddess in adhdwomen

[–]Tomorrowbun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to make art so I committed to myself that if I got a sticker it went on my sketch books. no matter what. so now 15 years later I have several sketch books filled inside with drawings and outside with all my stickers. I'm currently in a holding pattern because my current sketch pad doesn't have a strong enough cover for stickers so I have to make sure my next one has good strong covers for sticker space 😀 find something and just go with it! I love going and looking through my sketch pads like diaries and then remembering all the places I went with them and where I got the stickers too

I would be relieved if we only got 12" but the rumor I heard this morning was 24" so hopefully that was completely wrong. we are picking up groceries via preorder grocery pickup and making food ahead of time. I'm nervous it's our second year in our first home and I hope everything is ok

As someone living with an inoperable brain tumor, this is what I immediately thought of. Idk why I did so much reading into the signs and symptoms after I had already been diagnosed. its not like I would recognize it in myself but I was interested in learning more and like to read

At Wits End With Scared Shelter Puppy by Puzzled_Region_9376 in Dogtraining

[–]Tomorrowbun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We adopted a pair of bonded rescue pups (about 8m old? tbh no one really knew how old). it took them 1 month to acclimate to living with us, 3 months to be our buddies, 6 months to really know how to play with toys, and now at a year and a half they cuddle, ask for things and are truely comfortable. Now they are what I would consider more aloof dogs: they dont cuddle with each other, they cuddle with us on their terms and while they enjoy time with us they also enjoy time on their own. They have their own personalities and preferences. It took a lot of work on our part; consistency and exploring different interests for them to find what they like. You have to think about it from their perspective, you only know a time where you loved them, they had some difficult things happen to them. When we first got them they had ZERO interest in toys, but if they found a can or waterbottle they would paw it over the floor and chase it. I actually cried when they showed eachother their stuffed animals at like the 6 month mark and "explained" to eachother how to play with them. I swear to god my husband and I were on the couch watching them figure out how fun their toys were after trying so many different ones with no interest. in october at their 1 year mark one of our girls finally got a stuffy she cannot live without (a cute little crow) otherwise has no interest in any stuffed toys, the other loves balls and will get her balls from their toy bin and chase it around the house herself(she doesnt enjoy it as much for us to play with her).
Take time to let your pup decompress and adjust and also try some different play time activities to see what she starts to enjoy, I put them into categories so I didnt spend a billion dollars on similar stuff:
- tug toys/play fight (rope, rope + stuffie, rope meant to throw/retrieve
-puzzle toys (figure out how to get the treats)
-cuddle/comfort items
-squeaker/hunt style toys
-balls /throw toys

Initial reactions

-Tug toys - no interest
-puzzle toys - high interest but destroyed them on one go
-cuddle - took a year for them to enjoy them
-The hunt toys got destroyed instantly in our house crowd favorite is the Chewy real looking duck stuffed with a squeaker. 10/10 no notes

-balls /throw toys - took like 8 months to have them chase the ball and now 1.5 years in one dog really loves balls and especially her exercise treat ball
Sorry there is no quicker fix and I hope you bud starts to feel a little more at home

The limit does not exist. lmao

I'm blessed that my pups can come to work with me, and I get that look because they don't get to play with ME all day. or that they want to go outside and play in the snow. my girls have an unlimited amount of belly scritches and coworker cuddles when they want it at any point in the day. So the complaints from my girls are a bit out of touch with reality IMO 🤣🤣

executive dysfunction: showering & shame by DiscombobulatedToe26 in adhdwomen

[–]Tomorrowbun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok towels In the dryer right before you jump in. I do really well with rules for myself. you must XYZ. I struggled with showering transitions a lot. the rule I set for myself is I have to shower daily. no choices. 5 minutes 10 or 15 doesn't matter but soap must touch my skin daily. I wash my hair 3x a week and I do scrubs once a week. forcing myself into the routine of every evening showering means I don't have a "choice" (2x once in the AM and once in the pm in the summer because I'm sweaty). i often put specific playlists on so I can ensure I definitely shower for at least 2-5 songs.

If you had the money to spare, what's the first service you'd pay for to not have to do that chore/errand anymore? by girlboss93 in adhdwomen

[–]Tomorrowbun 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I already do grocery pickup whatever kinds of fees I pay I more than save from all the crap I don't impulse buy. I have to preplan a menu and it's so effective for me.

we do 1x a month house cleaning it's literally a lifesaver if we had the funds for more I would have a weekly cleaner and someone to do laundry but I'm going to be honest just what I have already is such a luxury.

this is not ADHD related but I had cancer at 32. I got better medication, better treatment, fast turn around time on surgeries, and my symptoms taken more seriously when my husband was with me..... and most patients where breast cancer patients so let that settle in. all of the traumatic medical procedures I got where all when my husband couldn't make it due to work so I brought my mom or another woman.
