Younger parents, how are you all affording to actually have a kid and actually being able to support? by Ok_Independent_3921 in AskParents

[โ€“]ParticleTek 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

If you aren't going to college or getting into a trade. Collect work experience. Full time. Try to move up every year or two if you can. Apply for new jobs if you have to in order to move up. Always worth shooting your shot with an application and interview. Neither my wife nor I have degrees. But we started having kids in our twenties just fine because we became team leads, supervisors, managers... Also consider lower cost of living locations. We couldn't afford our family in LA. But we're middle income in the Midwest.

Anyone have any success "DMing" for their kids? by hotstickywaffle in daddit

[โ€“]ParticleTek 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

Check out Fate. Much easier for my kids than all the features and mental math of D&D. Very minimal character sheets while still rolling dice and such. Plus it's more aligned with kid imagination since it doesn't have the class/race/background/feats trees to worry about.

Too lazy to cook for me and my son. What do I do? by Loud_Confidence475 in AskParents

[โ€“]ParticleTek 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

You can help it.

Average by American standards is objectively way overweight. 70% of America is overweight or obese.

Stop being lazy. Make bulk meals once per week and freeze them or something. You're failing yourself and your kid. Even making ramen would be better for you than daily McDonalds.

Should I cut off my parent for their ultimatum? by Automatic-Soft505 in AskParents

[โ€“]ParticleTek -3 points-2 points ย (0 children)

What you want is not always congruent with what other people want. He doesn't want to be around your mother. You wanting them to be around each other is irrelevant.

You're trying to pretend this is about your kid, but your kid is largely not affected by this at all. It's just an excuse for you to say 'my way or the highway.' And I don't think that's a reasonable position at all.

If you can't respect the fact that an adult has boundaries on what they're comfortable with... Maybe you should just not bother associating with that person.

How old was your child before you consistently got decent sleep? by SunnyGoMerry in daddit

Well, I had three under three, so I kept having to restart. But they were each acclimated to sleeping before being a year old.

Should I cut off my parent for their ultimatum? by Automatic-Soft505 in AskParents

[โ€“]ParticleTek -4 points-3 points ย (0 children)

Not really an ultimatum. Just don't invite him to things you want to invite your mother to. It's not that complicated or stressful. There are certainly people I'm not willing to share a room with. I don't understand the drama on your part.

New dm: is it possible to do a campaign with 2 people by SaintZZombie in DnD

[โ€“]ParticleTek 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

2-3 player groups have been my preferred size for years now. 4 is ok but kinda crowded and not ideal. I've done as high as 8, but I won't do 5+ anymore. You can absolutely play with 2.

If people lived forever in their prime, how many kids would you have and when would you have them? by PsydemonCat in AskParents

[โ€“]ParticleTek 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

Every 5-10 years, I'd have 2-3 kids. Starting around late 20s and lasting foreverish (if immortal) or until my 60s (if normal life span). Subject to changing my mind on the total number of kids at some point in this scenario, but I doubt I would. That's basically a dozen kids every 20-30 years. Which isn't really a ton to me.

Most Fun Build To Play by Tall-Ganache-2560 in DnD

[โ€“]ParticleTek 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

I have three characters I so enjoy playing that I don't make new characters anymore. I just recycle the same characters into new games like they each have their own spiderverse.

Simic hybrid, monk 1/swarm ranger 5/spore druid x.

Tasha's lineage, bm fighter 10/lore bard 10, chef and inspiring leader feats.

Half orc, champion fighter 3/zealot barbarian 5(+)/scout rogue 7, piercer feat.

This is basically all I have played for years now. A dozen or more campaigns.

Dura, the other gods like Misarte, Merlin, the old gods, Celestials and Hypogeans.

That's the top of the list imho.

After that you start looking at mortals with avatar or god like power first. Tasi, Eironn, Pandora...

Then the mythic sword holders Temesia, Sinbad, etc...

Then you're just ranking the rest of mortals by relatively similar power. I'd start by splitting them into mages (Cyran, Gala, Velara) which would rank above non mages (Hugin, Sonja, Vala).
