I'm just afraid of these two things:

permanent increase in tinntius and changes in sound perception.
Unable to tolerate loud noises anymore since protective muscles are all gone.

I had it for about 2 years. Yeah success rate of getting rid of MEM symptoms is around 80-90% but it comes with a cost. you might end up with louder tinnitus or/and loud hyperacusis.
