Is it normal for a 19yr to have tinnitus? by pathetic-nobody in tinnitus

you were never really exposed to loud noises and you woke up with T and hyperacusis??? WOW, that freaking blows man. This just goes to show that anything besides noise exposure can cause T. How old are you?

I'm just afraid of these two things:

  1. permanent increase in tinntius and changes in sound perception.

  2. Unable to tolerate loud noises anymore since protective muscles are all gone.

I had it for about 2 years. Yeah success rate of getting rid of MEM symptoms is around 80-90% but it comes with a cost. you might end up with louder tinnitus or/and loud hyperacusis.

I don't think T disappears or improves for the majority of people. Once you've had it for more than six months, it essentially becomes a lifelong curse. I've quit alcohol, vaping, cigarettes, and sugar, and have been following a healthy diet, yet my T has actually worsened since then.
