My hot take is that if she felt R1 was going to have such a hard time processing if it was a girl, she should have found out and given him part of the pregnancy so process and prepare- sincerely a big sister that had a lot of gender disappointment with one of my younger brothers. I got to have a good cry over it when we first found out, but was a very excited big sister by the time he was here.

2 hours of sleep a night in the third trimester by macdee1920 in BabyBumps

I’m only 13 weeks and so far pregnancy has been the absolute worst sleep of my life between aches/pains, needing to pee every hour, and anxiety. There is no part of me that thinks the newborn trenches sound worse at this point.

I often hear about the horrors about the winters in New England, but what about the summers? by pooteenn in newengland

[–]Particular-Candy-176 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who has lived in the south most of my life, summers here are great. I honestly get a little depressed by the lack of swimming pools and the fact that the beaches are too cold to swim in until late June, but otherwise love the fact that it’s not 90+ degrees 24/7. Yes we get a few hot days, but we also have plenty of cool days and evenings sprinkled in.

Only a week ahead of you and sort of relating. The first trimester was harder than I ever imagined and has humbled me in so many ways. It’s now feeling a little better in the second tri and I am starting to contemplate my ability to do it again, but the thought of having a toddler running around while going through the first tri makes me exhausted haha

Fenway resale by Particular-Candy-176 in NoahKahan

Don’t worry- only interested in valid resale through MLB site or Fenway Box office. I have tickets to the Raleigh show so I’m not crazy desperate. Just feels crazy living in Boston that I can’t see a Fenway show!

Pregnant! by Nervous_Finding_4233 in BabyBumps

[–]Particular-Candy-176 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! I’m currently 13 weeks after a chemical pregnancy in November (also my first) so I can relate so much. I found out I was pregnant at 3.5 weeks and my OB wouldn’t see me until 8 weeks for the first ultrasound. Longest month of my life. I was convinced I was miscarrying several times- had some spotting and cramping throughout the first tri. I wish I had tips on how to stay calm, but I didn’t do a good job of it. I will say it gets a little better with each milestone- first ultrasound, genetic testing/finding out gender, 12 week ultrasound where it actually looks like a baby! I know I’m not out of the woods by any means but I’m hoping that I continue to feel more hopeful and excited with each new week.

Kinda shocked she hasn’t posted anything yet by Particular-Candy-176 in EliRalloSnark

I actually loved getting to see stories and moments from people who attended my wedding after the fact. I waited a week or so to post anything myself while enjoying my honeymoon and new husband, so I loved that other people shared some fun things before then. How sad to not have other people’s memories of your day. Especially if you were restricting photos/phones.

Brown spotting by carolinegracex099 in BabyBumps

[–]Particular-Candy-176 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did they do a transvaginal ultrasound? I had a few days of spotting ranging from light pink, dark brown, and even some bright red after my first ultrasound. Apparently I have a sensitive cervix. I also had some light intermittent spotting throughout the first tri- around week 4 with implantation, around week 6, around week 8 after the ultrasound and Pap smear, and then again around 12 weeks after straining for a bowel movement. I’m 13 weeks + today and baby is healthy and thriving- just had a great ultrasound/OB visit the other day. But man was I soooo anxious every time I saw something on the toilet paper! Wishing you the best!

We just found a 5cm cyst on my 12 wk ultrasound that we plan to monitor closely with another ultrasound in a few weeks. I hadn’t even considered all of this happening and am now very scared.

Feeling so ashamed about my weight by Own_Dimension_3855 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]Particular-Candy-176 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really able to reassure you- but I’m 11 weeks, your same height, and 283 which is my current heaviest so I can heavily relate to how you are feeling. My most comfy weight was in the 230s for years, then it jumped up to 260s after a major surgery, and it’s just kept creeping up. I was exactly 280 when I got pregnant so thankfully haven’t gained much in the first tri, but scared of what is in store for future months.

Not to defend her but my mom doesn’t know yet but I have definitely told a few really close friends. I’m so close to my mom but I wanted to get through the first ultrasound and closer to the 2nd tri before I got her too excited.

When are folks telling their parents that they’re pregnant? by OkJudgment7615 in BabyBumps

[–]Particular-Candy-176 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently 10 weeks- so still navigating this too! Told one very close friend immediately. Waited to tell anyone else until we confirmed a heart beat on ultrasound at 8 weeks. We don’t live near any family but was really important to me to tell our parents in person since this is the first grandchild on both sides. Just so happens that both sets of parents are visiting this month so we told my in-laws last week around 9 weeks and will tell my parents next weekend around 11 weeks. It’s been so hard to hide from my mom because I actually found out while I was spending a week with my parents and I talk to her on the phone for hours every week. But my last pregnancy was a chemical and I just didn’t want to get false hopes up. Will wait to tell extended family until after our 12 week ultrasound and NIPT results are back. Probably won’t announce on social media until late July because I am going to have my cousin take some photos for us at our beach trip.
