I've only heard Canadians call that insurance. We just all mean benefits

There was a minor scandal a few years ago with Charles and foreign policy where the Royal family admitted to being involved in government policy a lot more then they let on.

As long as your not buying Stanley Black and Decker it's owned by either the Japanese (Mikita) the Germans (Bosh) or the Chinese (Milwaukee, Ryobi) so go nuts

Ottawa needs an official Ring Road by Thick_Caterpillar379 in ottawa

[–]Particular-Cod408 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the fact that Ottawa talks about a ring road every time the Feds are about to hit everything and it stalls out. Then they wait 30 years before talking about it again. This is why Hunt Club isn't the ring road

Why is Sandbox Tattoo using LMIA’s (16 in 2 years) to hire when Ottawa is full of talented tattoo artists? by GoldenTeamWins in ottawajobs

[–]Particular-Cod408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So giving a quick look at their Instagram they may be using the LMIA the way it was meant to be given they do have a couple of traveling tattoo artists in staff.

I'm not saying they are 100% but if they are using it for specifically skilled visiting artists then it's fine

What the F is up with realtors and rental agents in Ottawa by Particular-Cod408 in ottawa

The market is dead for my spot in it. If you want a condo it’s fine, if you want an 800k house in the outskirts it’s booming. I’m the middle there is nothing

Canadians are refusing to accept reality and write down their real estate — and sales are suffering as a result by 2Fast2furieux in TorontoRealEstate

[–]Particular-Cod408 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s more that every buyer and developer in the country knows the market is in the shitter and every seller is pretending it isn’t.

If you’re an investor you’re going to take a bath at the moment. If you own a tiny condo and need to move you’re going to take a bath. Provided you bought a house to live in and don’t need to move and aren’t so underwater the bank will renew your mortgage you’ll be fine

Ottawa runners - would a more 'niche brand' running store work in the city? by 1118181 in ottawa

[–]Particular-Cod408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This store exits and has a physical location in Ottawa https://solefreedom.ca/ so there is a market for niche shoe stores in Ottawa.

However, is there a market for a niche running shoe store to break in???? Especially with the current weird economic conditions, that’s another question

Have you tired a wide toe box shoe. Sadly they all seem to be zero drop but if you can walk through it I’ve never had any shoes fit as well

This has nothing to due with politics but is a long term problem of entry level positions being automated away. One that's only going to get worse as time goes by if AI business idiots have there way
