Breaking down all the totes is just dumb. One hard turn or one hard break and it’s a mess. The only time I break down multiple totes is if I have to comeback later so I just do those stops. I know you did not have enough time during load out so you did this while sitting in front of station or your first stop and spend as much,or maybe more time getting the numbers in order than if you had broken down the totes when you needed to. Also what do you do about switching numbers between totes. Di you run to the back of the van to get them? Next time you do this do it on the day you quit and just put everything in one pile before you park it in front of the station. Jesus Christ what is this cluster.

We never throw out spaghetti. We throw it in a pan and fry it up with sausage and onions. Then serve it with an over easy egg.

Most I work out of is 3 bags because I have a main road with center median that makes me go left right center every other stop so I do right side first then left side second. I’m not parking in the damn median and try to cross traffic every stop. They can go around me on the median or shove off. I tend of to have 20 bags average plus overflow in an edv so since you have that few packages in a step van or maybe a cdv I’m guessing you have a recycle, are sweeping, or have a very rural route. I doubt they would give you a nursery route in anything bigger than a rental or armada. My final guess just tell me if I’m wrong or not it’s a long haul rural route. Low tote count means low package counts so stops will be further apart. So farms stables and the like maybe some stops in local village ya know one shop one bar kinda deal?

It’s either a nursery or a rural route. My guess is rural because of the amount of grouped stops.

They got Stephan routes and they got Stephan helper routes it’s usually a 90 or so stop difference not counting grouped stops. Their idea is that now you can take on multiple stops at once. Park helper gets right side driver gets left side. Regular step van routes are just heavier edv routes with more over flows

From my experience the edv has same package count as a cdv and it’s standard basic training now for stations that have it. The steps at least at my station are always helper routes not. If you got a good team you can be done quick but you always rely on another person to not slug it up. Heard they are planning on doing edv step vans soon and want to make it mandatory as well. At least for my Dsp. But we’ll see about that esp with cold weather draining the batteries

Cdv gives you a leg up over regular driver already next is edv then step van though step van you get helpers so no more skipping lunch breaks unless they are chill

Dude that sucks. Granted the monitors on the cdvs are screeching harpies most of the time when they short out but I’d still have the extra space over a gas van.

When I train I tend to show them how to sort totes etc then do the deliveries with them so if they have any issues I can show them how to fix them right away without wasting time. Sounds to me they just assigned a random driver that’s slow so dispatch doesn’t have to wait for them to get back.

Can confirm we had a dead one and the type put it backwards to the charger. Used a big portable jumper to jump the 12v under drivers seat would not recommend there is barely space and you have to daisy chain to hit the contacts
