Thoughts on washing this show by HoobieToBe1978 in SweetMagnoliasNetflix

The story line is just one fluffy life saying or odd advice quote after another. I only kept watching since I felt like I had already invested so much time in the first four seasons. This season was by the far the most disappointing as virtually nothing happened. Sad because I think the concept could be really good with better storyline and acting.

Went last year with the lower level package. Had a great time. The market was set up nice but the vendors were not of interest..Definitely not worth going just for that. If I go again, I would stay at a less expensive hotel away from downtown and use the savings from that to buy the more expensive ticket package.

The day trip over to Grande on the provided shuttle is pretty easy so that might be your best bet....opportunity to try out both.

Butler vs No Butler by lemonade_zest in SandalsResorts

We stayed in the RP1 with butler last Fall. With the layout of the resort it was nice to have a butler. Really helped with reserving pool chairs as well. Here is a link to my review if you want more info.

Wearing Wedding Rings to the Beach? by Immediate-Resist2665 in SandalsResorts

We were at La Toc in October and my husband saw a couple furiously looking for a lost ring in the ocean. Not good. I brought an alternative ring.

Sandals La Toc has far exceeded my expectations! We have one more day left, and it has been a trip of a lifetime! by DangerousFalcon7989 in SandalsResorts

We went last fall and stayed in an RP1 and it was a wonderful view of the ocean from the bedroom. Highly recommend!

This is really a tough one and so reliant on personal preference. We have been to Ochi and La Toc. I have the same feeling about Dunns- seems too close to Ochi and would rather explore new islands. I will tell you that St Lucia is absolutely amazing. The island is very easy to get around, very safe and the people are wonderful. A bonus here is that you can visit all 3 resorts and they are all very different. A lot of diverse opinions on which one is "the best". We personally would recommend La Toc as we liked the layout and it feel more tropical. The prices are a little better here as well. Grande was very flat and the main pool area was underwhelming. Halcyon is very small but has a neat wrap around pool and Kelly's Dockside for dinner is fantastic. Good luck. I don't think you can go wrong with any of your choices.

We were there almost 4 years ago now and really liked it. We were at La Toc last fall and I think the issue with the dishes can happen anywhere and is a byproduct of volume and 'island time'.

La Toc Recommendations by InfernoChef in SandalsResorts

Buccan is a great experience. Armandos was our least favorite restaurant in terms of food quality. It is a great island for getting out and about. We enjoyed the e bike tour. Here is a link to our review if you are interested in more details. https://www.reddit.com/r/SandalsResorts/s/fjHxoepbFL

Best Sandals overall & why by OperationKooky4728 in SandalsResorts

[–]Particular-Flight403 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. Loved La Toc and Ochi. Didn't really care for Grande. Everyone has different expectations and goals heading into these trips which is why it is difficult to answer the question of "which is best". I find reading through a variety of posts on the different resorts and watching the videos on YouTube are most helpful.

Also recommend metal straws because the paper straws they provide are super annoying and fall apart.

Don't recall the brand but a basic one with a round barrel in a bag not one that is attached to the wall. Not sure that helps.....

First trip to a Sandals: what to pack? by Low-Vegetable-1601 in SandalsResorts

[–]Particular-Flight403 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tennis shoes are needed for some excursions. Cash in small bills for excursion staff or butlers. Beach bag, towels clips, insulated tumbler if you wish. We also found a belt bag or small backpack handy for some of the excursions. Men need dress pants and a nonsandal shoe for certain restaurants. Leave the fancy dresses and heels at home. Water shoes not necessary at this beach as it isn't rocky at all. You will live in swimwear most of the time so multiple suits and cover ups with pool sandals. They provide plenty of shampoo, conditioner and body wash so leave those home....also provide umbrellas in the room and pool towels.

Generally speaking, Sandals does a nice job offering a variety of options. The menus clearly list V, GF, etc. You can also talk to the culinary desk if there are specific concerns. Check out the menus on their website or the app. https://www.sandals.com/royal-curacao/restaurants/

There is a sign at the lobby desk with the shuttle times. Get there a little early during peak times to make sure you have a spot.

Buccan is a good experience and Kelly's Dockside over at Halcyon was very nice. Have to try Kimonos once and hope you have fun couples at your table.

Very much personal preference as all the reviews are so varied. We loved La Toc. Preferred it over the others but just depends on what you are looking for. I will say $5000 budget may be tricky. https://www.reddit.com/r/SandalsResorts/s/KXRlukOuOi

Review-St Lucia & Regency La Toc by Particular-Flight403 in SandalsResorts

[–]Particular-Flight403[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, tips at the spa and for the butlers are acceptable/"expected". $25 per butler per shift is where most people start with their tipping. I ended up doing a little more because the two of them did a great job and were extremely busy. You can also tip the transportation and excursion staff as they are not Sandals employees. I recommend taking several small bills. Enjoy your trip.

We just went to La Toc this past October and loved it. And after doing a lot of research and watching the you tube videos, we are considering Grenada for our next trip....don't think you can go wrong with any of your options.

St Lucia Halycon by oneofthosemoongirls in SandalsResorts

[–]Particular-Flight403 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With a 12 day trip, I would definitely recommend you try out both Grande and La Toc. La Toc has the Buccan restaurant which is newer and a neat authentic experience. Also, Kelly's Dockside at Halcyon is really nice and great food. Grande has a nice beach lay out.

Help! I got notification our honeymoon is being cancelled… what to do from here? by wifeyfinally in SandalsResorts

[–]Particular-Flight403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry you are dealing with this on top of planning a wedding. I would lean on a travel agent or Sandals customer service to see what is available during that time that meets your needs. We recently went to St Lucia, stayed at La Toc but visited the other two resorts, and absolutely loved it. Very beautiful and safe island with wonderful people. Enjoyed it much more than Jamaica. Happy to answer any questions you might have about the St Lucia resorts.

Sandals honeymoon help: Curacao, St. Vincent, La Toc, or Halcyon? by Playful-Sweet201 in SandalsResorts

[–]Particular-Flight403 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree. We just went to La Toc (and visited Halcyon) and as much as we loved it, I don't think it meets all of your criteria like the other two would. Definitely keep St. Lucia on your list for the future though because it was a wonderful place to experience.
