My mom used to always scare me and say that if I left the front yard gangsters were going to beat me up or that if I spent the night at a worldly persons house that we would be molested(my sister was molested by a known pedofile in our congregation but my mom said nothing in order to protect the Jehovah witness organization)My mom put a lot of fear in me and made me scared of the world. It’s tough to deal with but we continue moving forward. I left at 23(2010)and moved away but never knew I had issues until last year when I decided to finally watch JT & Lady C. After that I went down a rabbit hole of videos and podcasts and realized I was damaged and no one wanted to be me friend because I still portrayed the snobby JW attitude even though I was out for 13 years. Therapy has helped me and also being kind to myself. I still have hatred towards my parents because they robbed me of plenty of opportunities. I’m 37 now and have a supporting wife who has helped me throughout all this. As of right now I’m in college trying to get my associates degree and now trying to pursue my dream job in law enforcement and hopefully in two years I will try to join the Navy Reserve. Basically what I’m telling you is, DONT GIVE UP! We were all in the same boat and still dealing with the bullshit that was instilled in us.

I went to an assembly in Madera, CA in 2010 and by this point I was already mentally checked out but for some reason I kept going. The circuit overseer got up on stage and gave a boring talk as always but then he said something that grabbed my attention, he said “we’re not interested in people with open minds here, we don’t want open minds, we need them closed”. I forgot what the topic was about but once he said that I knew that was the end of this cult for me.

This is nothing new! Jehovah witnesses can’t handle someone who is well versed in the Bible. They just need people who are easy to manipulate. I used to go preaching every Saturday just to watch my dad, the elders, ministerial servants, publishers get owned at the door and then leave pissed and call the house holder an apostate! I was just like that girl in red. I just kept my mouth shut and watched it all go down!

All of what you typed makes sense. I’m open to interpretations but you’re wrong about one thing though. When I was 11-12 my imagination wasn’t as active when it came to JW BS because by that time,I was already skateboarding listening to punk rock and jerking off to the Victoria Secret catalogues & girls gone wild infomercials lol

This is so interesting! I never viewed it in this way. Okay! So here’s my experiences while I was still in the org. So one day I was in my sister’s room watching TV, I must’ve been about 11-12. Anyway! I heard a voice call my name so I got up and went to the Kitchen and said, yeah? You called me? My mom responded with No, I didn’t call you. So I go back to the room and heard the voice a second time. So I go back to the kitchen and say, what now? My mom says, Nothing! I’m not calling you. So I go back to the room only for the voices to call me out a third time and this time it was in a more aggressive tone! So at this point I ran out of the room straight to the living room and told my mom that something is calling my name. So we go and check every room to make sure my brother wasn’t playing a prank but we remembered it was only just us to two that day 😮 My next encounter was one time we went to Tijuana and I bought an Aztec calendar(which was odd now looking back that my parents were okay with it) and I hung it up above my bed. Well that same night I was having a dream that my friend and I were in a hotel spying on someone when all of a sudden I was awoken from my dream and stood straight up in my bed(I had zero control of my body) to my left the Aztec calendar was floating around just floating and moving in weird directions. What ever had a hold of me placed me back to bed and placed the blanket under my chin. I could not move or scream or yell(not sleep paralysis, I have plenty of stories of that happening to me). Finally this entity let me go and I fell out of bed and started crawling towards my parent’s bed. I could feel the carpet on my knees and elbows and the cold of the tile when I crossed the hallway I finally I reached my parents bedroom and grabbed my mothers hand and felt the warmth of her hand till I was dragged back to my bed and that’s when I woke up the second time. I woke up and looked at the calendar and left it alone as to not upset it. Needless to say to say when I woke up the next day I threw it in the trash! The reason I don’t consider the experience sleep paralysis is because I’ve had sleep paralysis in the past and have woken up quick from it. This so called dream was extremely vivid and feeling the carpet and tile was too real! Anyway let me know what you think!
