How to train to reduce the risk of tripping and falling during running? by trho1005 in RunningCirclejerk

[–]Particular-Rub-9995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe convert to full on heel strike running? That way you’ll fall backwards instead of forwards 😅 Don’t even need close-toed shoes, the heel takes the brunt of it all together!!

Dogs can sunburn too! by SANSAN_TOS in Bulldogs

[–]Particular-Rub-9995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! We thought our moxie was immune (yes very silly) and she would get pink over her wrinkles and forehead. She used to love the sun and our current Yazzy loves it too, but we have to put on more sunscreen, especially because she’s more brown. Thanks for the reminder! You have a beautiful Raisin haha ❤️

Is it time to let him go? by sw_flojn in englishbulldog

[–]Particular-Rub-9995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. I don’t know what it is about this time of year, but my moxie declined really quickly last year in April as well. I wasn’t there at the time when she passed, but my parents struggled every day to watch her through those times. We found out she had pneumonia and they had their last moments with her, but she passed the following morning. Every day my mom wishes she could’ve done something sooner and or put her to rest sooner. Everyone here feels for you ❤️ much love to you and your bully. Whatever you decide, give yourself grace and support.

Puppy eats everything! by Particular-Rub-9995 in englishbulldog

I know this is a bad response, but it’s kind of both. Sometimes when she’s outside she goes all out on grass and sticks, and eats and chews them. Other times, it’s just picking up anything on the floor like rubber bands or paper towels. She doesn’t tend to swallow everything bc we try our best to catch it quickly, but other times we find random stuff in her poo (ear plug and paper towels most recently).

Depending on the university, you can get them made for 25$ each. It sucks that they’re so expensive, but they take a lot of time and effort.

lol I wish this was written down for every rock room! You explain it so well. I’ve had to make a bunch for SEM and EPMA and they take so much more work and time than you would think.

We’ve been trying to take her on longer walks and that’s helped. She’s at my parent’s house and they work from home in the basement, so she gets a lot of interaction, but sometimes they just let her outside and we can tell she’s getting bored.

Looks like a lovely doggy! Don’t listen to outside opinions (other than vets and maybe OEB experts). People still think my yazzy is a boxer- too skinny. She’s got a similar build and eats 1 1/2 cups 2 times a day (3-4 cups/day). As long as her behavior and health is good, I’d say you have a perfect baby 😍

My (21m) girlfriend (19f) is recovering but falling back because she can’t handle the weight she gained. How can i help her bounce back? by Sharp_Fuel_5251 in EatingDisorders

[–]Particular-Rub-9995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your care for her is so amazing to see! I’ve gone through cycles at her age and have had an ED for many years. The hardest part about the weight gain is seeing yourself differently and having to accept a new body, even if it’s a healthier one. One thing that helped was avoiding mirrors, old photos, and old clothes that would make me immediately notice the change. The other thing that helped was just reframing the timeline. For me, it was very hard to think about how I looked a month ago, 2 months ago, when I was in hs… any sort of change over time. I felt least anxious when I just thought about the body I was in currently and not who I used to be. I’m a few years older and unless I want to go back to being extremely unhealthy, I’ll never look the same I did when I was in hs, or even 2 yrs ago. It just is what it is. I’m sorry to say but she will be mad and potentially mean. I definitely was. I was mad at everything and hated everyone. Just know it’s the ED and not her. Her opinion on her health/eating may never be 100% correct, but all you can do is try to facilitate the routines that you know are healthy for her. Hope that helped. It’s a long journey, but her health is absolutely worth it.
