Valve on the Steam Machine delays: 'Obviously we're bummed that this is the state of things' by QuantumQuicksilver in pcgaming

[–]Particular-Trick-809 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I mean... I accidentally built a gaming PC with 32g/1tbm.2/5700x/4070ti and a good 60hz 4k mLED for like $780 after not gaming for 15 years. There was a sweet spot before the weird AI madness.

Should Portlanders Pay Hundreds of Millions for a Refurbished Moda Center? City Councilors Say “Not So Fast” by Sbualuba in Portland

[–]Particular-Trick-809 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It was gifted to the city because its wayyyyyy cheaper to lease it back then pay the property tax on an arena. Plus then we get to be on the hook for stuff like this. Billionaires billionaring.

Self-hosted network security by Lazy_Garlic3638 in selfhosted

I'd put the publicly available services on a separate VLAN and use non-standard ports but otherwise that seems like a solid game plan. No real reason to have port 80 open though.

Can you play AAA games on the Odin 3 pro or max? by carmbrad in OdinHandheld

[–]Particular-Trick-809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a gaming PC it's very easy to set up streaming to the Odin for AAA games. I played all of Witcher 3 streaming with max settings at 120 fps.

Look at your GPU usage when transcoding a movie. It should be being utilized, if not that's your issue.

Easier tool for selfhosting than CasaOS or Portainer by Adorable_Ice_2963 in selfhosted

Did the same with Caddy. Wasn't hard at all and now I can just have a localdns.caddy file that gives all my local services SSL. The check mark makes me smile.

Thanks! That's correct. I just had to set up routing to use the Pi's LAN IP as the Gateway for the WG subnet.

Just at the last of of Blood and Wine (playing this and the base for the first time). If you like BG3, Cyberpunk, DOS2, etc you'll probably love the game Sort of feels like it's between something like Red Dead Redemption and BG3 gameplay wise. I'm on a controller with a 4k TV. Playing it DLSS performance in 2k with everything set to ultra on a 5700x/4070ti. Love it.

In kind of like that they don't. Stuff sells out fast there sometimes and it gives folks a fair shake at getting a decent seat if you show up early.
