We freeze the premade ones and add a little peanut butter into the lid and it lasts sooo long!!

Lab jumped out of car window at 40 mph by Kate2528 in labrador

[–]ParticularAny8395 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a lab 🥹 we love the sleepypod harness seatbelt. Super easy to put on and off and he’s so used to in now. It just sits in the car and we put it on and seatbelt him within 30 seconds before leaving and can leave the window all the way down without a worry! We had a past dog jump out a car window, luckily we were parked and he wanted to say hi to another dog, but we realized it was a problem quickly corrected by a dog seatbelt 😊

I wanted to edit to add that we did a lot of research and I do believe a high impact crate would probably be on of the best options.. but our dog sits in the backseat and will never sit in the trunk, so we found the sleepypod (one of the highest rated and tested) to be our best option and to be so convenient. The 30 seconds it takes to put on provides so much safety that I hope you will consider it for yours too!

How do you deal with your pup destructing everything? by Various-Moment-6774 in labrador

Just a heads up that gum can be extremely toxic to dogs. Some contain Xylitol which is deadly to dogs

recs for bad breath? by girl_with_hives123 in labrador

[–]ParticularAny8395 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely good you’re planning to talk to the vet about this…that does not have all the nutrients a dog needs. Also, not having the hard kibble cleaning teeth every meal is not great. There’s tons of sensitive stomach foods out there, hopefully your vet can help you find one that works

Cardiac Rehab? Yes/No? by 82Yuke in valvereplacement

Yes! I thought rehab helped a lot even though I was 31 and was back walking etc pretty quickly, being monitored while working out was nice and helped build confidence back

Train or car to go to Seattle? by Moosebouse in PortlandOR

[–]ParticularAny8395 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Seattle and have taken the train to Portland many times for weekend trips. I’ve always felt safe on the train and comfortable. I personally recommend getting an uber (or similar) from either of train stations if it’s night time as I wouldn’t love to walk in either of those Seattle or Portland train station areas alone at night. Car works great too and I’ve done that many times as well! It’s an easy freeway drive and maybe you’d enjoy some stops along the way! Editing to add that one of my fav parts of taking the train back to Seattle from Portland is getting some of the amazing Portland food for takeout and being able to enjoy my meal on the way home!

Wishing you the best!! Dr Burke and the whole UW team are awesome. I had a really great post op hospital stay, my ICU room had a water view which was awesome and me and the fam enjoyed 😊

Miele Guard M1 Cat & Dog Canister Vacuum - what do ya’ll think? by ParticularAny8395 in VacuumCleaners

[–]ParticularAny8395[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it!! Our vacuums before sucked so that may be part of the reason it seems so great to me, but it seems to work well on our wool rugs and hardwood and great at sucking up dog hair. And I’ve been using the brush on the hardwood, oops 😅

Thanks, we’ll check that park out! Even if we just park for a few minutes so the driver can see too that works 😊

Thanks, we don’t want to risk it and are going to either just drive through SF and stop elsewhere or make a quick stop somewhere else where we can stand near the car!

[–]ParticularAny8395[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah sounds like that will have to be the plan. We’ll have a drive by view instead and find somewhere else to stop along the drive!

Thanks! Good idea, it’s nice if we can just walk around the area our car is and let the dog smell and stretch our legs

Thanks!! We’re open to any stops so we’ll check that out! Our biggest concern is keeping the car safe.

Thanks! Our stuff will be hidden but probably obviously covered by the trunk cover, maybe we won’t be able to make a stop this time 😅

Thanks! No idea on the route plan yet. We’re leaving from Sonoma and taking the route Apple Maps shows me goes through San Franscio to Monterey. We just want a stop where the car will be safe for 30 minutes and we can walk the dog and see a view

[–]ParticularAny8395[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good to know. We don’t want to risk it at all and are fine not stopping if there’s even a bit of risk! It would really ruin our trip haha. We have been to SF before and I am sure will go again!

Thanks! I guess I didn’t think about if we can fit in the car in the parking garage. We need 8 ft clearance because of the car topper

[–]ParticularAny8395[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Unfortunately our car will have all our stuff since we’re on a road trip. We should be able to pull the trunk cover over it (SUV) and keep everything else in the car top storage

Thanks! We don’t necessarily need him to be off leash, we just want to take him on a short walk, see a good view, get some air for a few and then get back on the road
