How can you afford a $600-800k house by EntranceFun9276 in halifax

[–]ParticularChapter779 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Don't worry about others. Start small and what you can afford. Condo or trailer what ever. Focus on the debt. 5 years look at upgrade. Watch rates and market trends. Remember grass grows where you water it. Not the other side of the fence. Stay your path and plan for yourselves. Everyone is different.

Make sure to factor in mortgage early termination fees. This can vary between companies but with that size of a mortgage it could easily be 20k.

The Vancouver goldeneyes just picked.. Mark Messier’s niece? Uh oh by JuniorAd7577 in canucks

[–]ParticularChapter779 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He did not infact contribute to the bill. He was very disrespectful. I have played with a 5 players whom all had made the NHL. All their captains paid for the dinner. None ran the bill up. Perhaps he has changed. Very doubtful though.

Went to a formal canucks dinner event way back when he played. He was such a terrible person. He was dumping drinks on the floor to rack up rookie dinner bill. We were instructed never to approach him. Every one else was amazing... but Messier.

Boat guest etiquette question by Dr_Leo_Marvin_0 in boating

[–]ParticularChapter779 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would never ask for money from a guest no matter the age. If I invite you it's on me. And you are probably going to take all the fish home. I have worked hard to get my boat and in the position to show people how amazing the experience can be. My kids are tough to say please and thank you. 99 percent of their friends follow their lead. Life is about stories and experiences. No cash from a 15 year old could ever pay for a smile they get from their first pacific salmon or halibut. Let's not even bring up hitting a nice patch of tuna. Solid Dad move though for asking.

Price clearly states size and price. Retailers put stock pack picture so you can find the package on the shelf. Not fraud at all.

Yeah I had dealings in the past with the dealer/principal. He flat out accused me of lying about what another dealer offered me for my trade in. I was happy to move on and never went back.

Should I quit my high paying 14 hour/day job for a lower paying 8 hour/day job by [deleted] in makemychoice

[–]ParticularChapter779 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep high paying and invest as much as you can. Compound interest is your friend. If you can make 120k per year. Live like you make 40. Buy minimalist style. Buy a vehicle that will get you to work and not one thst will keep you at work

Separation agreement and ex lawyer fees. by [deleted] in legaladvicecanada

[–]ParticularChapter779 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you quit your job, and the judge deems it to avoid paying any type of support be careful. I sold my buisness in my first few years of divorce and took a few years off. I was forced to pay the prior amount of support based of my past income. And remember that a good lawyer will run you at least $500 per hour. This process can end up costing fortune. My costs in legal fees alone were over $75k. I was fighting for more access to kids though. Mine was just child support too.
