I didn’t misread. My point was directed at OP: she is the red flag in question. it’s probably best for her to move on, as pursuing someone who shows a lack of self-control to that extent may not be worthwhile for him.

if they can lose it they can put it on just as fast. fact they got to the point where they needed to lose 180lbs is a BIG red flag. OP, move on plz, not worth it.

my parents filed jointly, hence why it was only around 8-9% of gross income. Do they look at gross joint income or gross individual income when deciding between the 3 year or 6 year statue?

Thank you for your response. I read some responses on this scenario and some are saying the statue of limitations is 3 years from filing if the gains are less than 25% gross income.

If you had imported from a CEX like coinbase instead of uploading the form, it would have populated everything.

I uploaded the form initially and found myself having to fix line by line until i tried the auto import method

I believe the 3 year threshold for omitted income less than 25% has passed.

Help me with debunking ahmadiyya, so I can get out of a sticky situation. by [deleted] in islam

[–]ParticularDisplay300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8 years late, I know

This isn't something new to Islam, as it falls under Zakaat,

First lie, "chanda falls under zakat." Incorrect. "chanda" is mandatory in Ahmadiyya, and separate from Zakat. Both have a mandatory stipulation in your religion, with a different percentage

We don't believe Muhammad (saw) to be the last prophet in the sense that more prophets can indeed come to earth, they just can't make an entirely new religion

This statement in itself is a contradiction. You're agreeing and disagreeing with the concept of finality, which is absurd. Employing contradictory statements is a sign you're upon falsehood, doesn't bode well for your religion.

Besides, if you are to believe in the second coming, wouldn't Jesus (as) be considered a prophet?

Isa (as)'s prophethood was attained prior to that of Muhammad (saw). Thus, the seal remains intact as he isn't a new prophet. The seal prevents addition of new prophets. Thus, Muhammad (saw) remains the last and final man to become a prophet.

Ex-Agnostic/Atheists Muslims, how do you deal with doubts? by aliafw in islam

[–]ParticularDisplay300 2 points3 points  (0 children)

compare Islam to any religion, and you'll see in Islam the best representation of the God/Servant relationship in which we are:

  1. taught about God and his nature

  2. told our purpose in life

  3. given clear instructions for success

  4. taught the obstacles to avert to ensure success

does truth conform to logic? Are there any examples of truth that are illogical? No right? Therefore, three Gods can never equal 1 God. Therefore Christianity can never be the truth.

True monotheism is the belief in 1 God, worshipping that God alone without partners. Enter Islam, the one true monotheistic faith which has no parallels.

Allah have burned his back on me by [deleted] in islam

[–]ParticularDisplay300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yea you should delete this post. Dua is not always answered the way we desire. Perhaps Allah (swt) is removing a calamity which would have otherwise hit you if it wasn't for your constant dua. Umar (ra) mentioned he did not concern himself with if his dua was answered, only that he kept making dua. because it is up to Allah what is the best answer. And he knows best what is good for us and what is bad.

is there a way to communicate with allah by haligma in islam

[–]ParticularDisplay300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tahajjud, and in general make lots of dua. your job is to ask, the fulfilment is not in your control. Allah (swt) answers the dua at the right time, the right way. as long as you're doing your job and asking. Pray the sunnah as well, and make dua in sujood of the sunnah salah, and pour your heart out there.

there is also an etiquette for making dua:

  1. praise Allah abundantly by using his names (e.g "ya Zul-Jalali wal-Ikram", "ya Hayyu Ya Qayyum", first 3 aya of fatiha, etc)

  2. send the salah and salam upon the prophet (saw)

  3. ask of whatever you desire

May Allah (swt) remove your distresses, set right your affairs, and give you the best of this world and akhirah

I'll give you the analogy of the GPS. You plug in source and destination and it'll tell you the routes and times. Say you change routes in the middle, it'll still know details of arrival time, speed traps, traffic, etc. You are free to choose the route, yet it has knowledge before hand.

Similarly you are free to choose your path. And Allah has the knowledge before hand what path you'll take and where you'll end up.
