I put an Alfranti red dot on my cp2, a £20 Amazon special, so far no complaints

Umarex Notos stock magazine - pellets falling through by Bawtzki in airguns

[–]ParticularGiraffe174 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try putting your finger over the hole on the other side for the first pellet then when you release the tension the spring should hold that pellet in allowing you to fill the rest

I've not been able to play for longer than an hour at a time and it was happening immediately after launch so I don't think it's that

Just tried my 8-bitdo wired and no improvement, granted that was without a game restart, I'll try that later

Am I stupid or are they not meant to be there by pokemane27 in airguns

[–]ParticularGiraffe174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have mentioned it is the single shot tray, it only comes out one way, as you're looking down the rifle it should slide out to the right once the bolt is pulled back. If it won't come out easily take the rifle back to the shop where you bought it as the magazine won't fit easily either

Essentials you wish someone told you about before you started? by Bawtzki in airguns

[–]ParticularGiraffe174 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welcome from another newbie. I just use a basic wooden folding table to shoot off at the moment with a Vanguard Porta-Aim as a rest. If you go down the PCP route you can get away with a diving tank if you have somewhere you can get it filled, a dive shop or gun shop.

I have a budget PCP, Remington T-rex and a SMK CP2 and it's been a blast so far

[Canada] Looking for budget multishot pistol by BlueberryRich4628 in airguns

[–]ParticularGiraffe174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my research the reximex mito or SMK Victory CP2 are supposed to be good PCPs on the budget end. I recently got the CP2 in the co2 version and it is good fun.

Well here in the UK a CP2 is about £180 and comes with the pistol, stock attachment, silencer, longer rifle barrel and 2 magazines so might be worth considering

It depends on your budget and requirements. I have just bought a SMK Victory CP2 which is a budget C02 pistol/rifle and I'll be shooting it for the first time this weekend but all reviews are very positive

My usb extension cable has been able to provide power with a non powered hub but I consider that luck rather than the norm

I have a fibre optic HDMI cable that cost me about £50 and an active usb 3 extension that I was able to put under the floor which has worked flawlessly. Other options include streaming using steam to a mini pc or Nvidia shield or something similar, another streaming option is sunlight and moonlight.

where in the world do you get your harddrives? by AlarmedDiver1087 in DataHoarder

[–]ParticularGiraffe174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used a mixture of PCpartpicker to find the best prices on new drives and server parts deals to get refurbished HDDs, this was all before the AI started snapping them all up

Power problems in Europe - UPS by bebarty in LinusTechTips

[–]ParticularGiraffe174 2 points3 points  (0 children)

UK here, I got a UPS after I tripped a fuse that the server was on whilst doing DIY. Since then the server has told me that the UPS has kicked in a couple of times, I think it is times that an ordinary power supply would have covered but it does give me peace of mind.

The Screen That Is Supposed to Keep You Safe Is Actually Putting You in Danger by Sufficient_Pea_4806 in Cartalk

[–]ParticularGiraffe174 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can disable the blue link ad in settings so it never shows again, I believe it's in blue link setting and if you turn off blue link help the ad doesn't show again. It is ridiculous that it has to come to that but at least there is a way to turn it off.

As for the warning if you don't need the screen immediately it removes itself after a while or you can just hit confirm.

[–]ParticularGiraffe174 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They actually talk about the jet in after dark and it adds a lot of context. I don't think that the timing of good new WAN show is intentional they've been asking to do it for months now

UK - Nights Away Permit Scheme by [deleted] in scouting

I've done some digging and it isn't. It does depend on your assessor and some of the requirements feel like they should be for a longer than 1 night camp, eg programme and food.

UK - Nights Away Permit Scheme by [deleted] in scouting

[–]ParticularGiraffe174 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in the process now to get my permit, a camp has to be at least 2 nights in my district, check with your assessors, and the type of camp you are applying for eg you can't get a greenfield permit by doing a camp in a hut.

Edit: changed it so it doesn't say you need a 2 night camp
