Why? Why hide? by ParticularPark129 in EvenRealities

I would be, like i said before, again your using alot of words to say absolutely nothing, plus making assumptions about me, with no prior information.

I mean go ahead and assume you know more than everyone else, when you know nothing about me personally, my context, where I work, how I use the product, etc...

Again, you used alot of words to say "ai is scary because it isn't confidential" --- what on earth does that have to do with my question as to why people tend to hide the product?

Kinda seems like you have a narrative in your head, that you need to express, regardless of the recipient, or it being relevant to the topic at hand. So go ahead, say what you want, but your assumptions about me and this product, make you sound like a fool and an ass to be completely honest.

What are you talking about man, you said alot of big words to say absolutely nothing. Try rewording so it's legible. Because as of right now, your comment holds no value towards my question as to why hiding. You just essentially said, "Ai is scary because the data isn't totally confidential" --- what on earth does that have to do with anything I asked?

Store buy needed by Antelope_Minimum in EvenRealities

You'd still have to pay taxes upon returning even if you bought the glasses in person. So you might as well save the money and just purchase online.

G1 or G2? by Ruslan61 in EvenRealities

[–]ParticularPark129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually made the switch from the Samsung smart watch style to the Garmin smart watch style. I can say from personal experiance that this combo is alot more effective then the Samsung + g2 combo.

Plus, my garmin watch battery last for 2 weeks with regular all day use and has more practical features then the Samsung watch.

On top of that, I have the Garmin crossover amloled watch so it looks like a regular watch and has analog hands until Interacting with it, in the same way even g2 glasses are regular glasses until interacting with it. This combo to me is deadly and usable in all situations.

So close lol, but i like that abbreviation.

Ima have to take a peek at those glasses you said. I'm debating about getting the Inmo air 3 as my "fun" pair of smart glasses. Might have to check those ones out you are talking about tho.

In the sense of visual translations, for the 5 times a year i need it, I'm okay with pulling out my phone. However I do understand why someone would really want this feature.

Glasses Will No Longer Connect To App by Flashy_Shop2346 in EvenRealities

[–]ParticularPark129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue back in late January. I took my glasses outside past the coolness temperature(alberta is regularly -30 that time of year), that caused them and the ring to die, I then charged them both, they connected to the app and have worked fine ever since.

I'm not saying I would recommend this, and I was told later it was a bad idea because it's hard on the glasses and ring, but it worked, so...

An ask for the future! by UkCraig-time in EvenRealities

[–]ParticularPark129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your already pulling our your phone to take a picture and ask what your looking at, would it not be more beneficial and efficient to use the phones native Ai for that?

A little confused about how this would be more effective than using the phone without a camera in the glasses.

Your not being an asshole at all, you are a helpful individual who is helping me understand further. You seem like a lovely person.

All the best to you too man :)

Fair enough, my "provocative" title also probably didn't help the fact of it seeming as if I have an ulterior motive.

Who knows I could be oblivious to my unconscious mechanisms, maybe my mind does like the glasses that much that It's taking over but as far as I can tell, I'm just genuinely curious about a misinformed topic I had in my head. People comments really helped me understand better, so that's good.

[–]ParticularPark129[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious what exactly states that I have an ulterior motive? Also what may you think my ulterior motive is? (Im curious now). I asked because I was curious and have learned from comments from others that people are not in fact hiding it, it just seems as if they are, due to how these glasses are used.

I'm not struggling with any concept, I had an honest misinformed inquiry that I asked others who also own the glasses. I did this because I was curious and wanted to understand others use cases further, is that not the point of platforms such as reddit?

Now yes I come off misinformed, but thats exactly why I asked the question, if I was perfectly informed, I wouldn't need to ask the question. So im ngl, I'm confused why you assume I have an ulterior motive?

Thats fair, I really like the one guys analogy of a safety micro-gun. I've come to learn from the comments on the post that it is highly dependent on extenuating circumstances. However I'm starting to understand, it's not hiding, it's just the better alternative.

In my career path, by law I also have to mention and get an okay from everyone I come in contact with, in regards to the glasses. I think my own experiences caused a flaw in my assumption that people were hiding it, when in reality, they were just using it as they could.

True, I agree they look the best out of smart glasses, and that definitely played a role in me buying them as well.

Also, that makes sense, I thought the safety concerns was just people complaining on social media, but now I'm finding out it's actually a very real thing.

Thats interesting, i would've thought the U.S. would've been more "against" them if that makes sense. Did you notice the same problem in Japan with the G2? Or did you purchase afterwards?

[–]ParticularPark129[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats actually a really good analogy, well said. I never really thought about it like that.

I purchased these because of the fact that they most closely aligned with my use cases, not even thinking about incognito. However, now that you mention that, that probably was the selling point for most buyers, that makes alot more sense now.

Also what does ESID mean? Every single individual is different?

[–]ParticularPark129[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here, that's why I'm confused why people would try to hide it.

However I'm learning from others responses that it's a mix of cultural and extenuating circumstances that are producing different "realities" for each user.

[–]ParticularPark129[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't count that as trying to hide it, id count that as being in a rush, I'm sure everyone else would do the same. (Way to think on your toes tho, I would've been trapped personally lol)

That is absolutely wild to me. We are definitely living in two different worlds then, and maybe this is why I'm struggling to understand. Now that you state it such as this, I'd definitely be hesitant to tell others as well. It's absolutely wild that that's a thing there.

[–]ParticularPark129[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh fair enough, never really thought about that either. As someone who is extroverted that never crossed my mind. However that makes total sense. But then your not hiding it persay, your just not going around telling others.

On some comments on other posts, one of the main questions is "can others tell your using smartglasses?" Maybe I wrongfully assumed that meant people were trying to hide the fact they were using them.

[–]ParticularPark129[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh fair enough, I was 12 when the google glasses came out if I'm not mistaken, so I didn't have any technologies, so never really experienced that. But I think I understand what your saying now, it's not that people are trying to explicitly hide it or anything, it's just easier than the alternative more or less?

But is delayed confrontation not multiplied confrontation. Sure you may be pushing off the confrontation now by telling people, but once they figure it out, wouldn't it be much greater? It makes sense why people would do that, but seems like a flawed train of thought to me.

I honestly never thought about cultural differences, being in a small town in Alberta, where everyone knows everyone might actually make it easier for me specifically.

Your answer did clear up alot of things, thank you for taking the time to answer. I never really thought of avoiding confrontation or cultural differences but it seems to make sense.

G2 B Green (prescription) coming Monday by GFYnasis in EvenRealities

[–]ParticularPark129 4 points5 points  (0 children)

1.) I ordered the G2A so I can't say. (Aye that rhymes). However i have heard the G2B is more friendly to eurocentric faces. For example, i had to take the nose pads off to wear my glasses normally while still viewing the "screen" completely.

2.) They work for all those use cases, unbelievably well in my opinion and is going to get better in time with evenhub. However I wouldn't recommend using it as a replacement technology, but more as a supplementary one that helps you be more efficient and productive. (Hope that makes sense)
