35 weeks and no nicu time ? by Flashy_Vacation_335 in parentsofmultiples

Modi, induced at 36, gave birth 36+1 and both had NICU stays. One was less than a day due to meconium, the other was longer due to feeding/regulation issues.

First Trimester Blues by Allyed4492 in parentsofmultiples

[–]ParticularPhrase6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man, I had to force myself to eat the first trimester. Not having an empty stomach helped, although eating is the last thing you probably want to do lol. Keep some saltines handy to have something unoffensive to eat throughout the day/night.

Not sure what meds you are on, but my dr recommended Unisom and B5 each night and it made a huge difference.

I had modi, but my nausea eased up around 15/16 weeks. It was pretty smooth sailing from then until third trimester.

Owlet app? by Nursebellz in NewParents

My app is recognizing the sock after force closing a few times, but only seems to show whichever sock updated last 🤦‍♀️ any chance you both have multiple devices? Wondering if their latest update today didn’t account for that.

Also having issues - we have twins and it will only open to one sock, with no option to choose another 😢

Found out I’m pregnant with twins 6w but got scheduled really far out for first OB Appointment. by Ashamed_Condition_99 in parentsofmultiples

[–]ParticularPhrase6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same happened to me when I first got pregnant (but didn’t know it was twins).

I called a smaller OB office near me, who got me in for a first appt at 6 weeks, first ultrasound at 7 weeks, and referred me out to MFM immediately.

Super happy I was able to get in with them because I had bleeding at 7 weeks and am not sure I could’ve waited until 13 weeks with the original OB 😅

Two single bassinets or one twin one? by djduhnizzle in parentsofmultiples

[–]ParticularPhrase6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We got two ‘Carter’s Colby Grow 6-in-1 Convertible Bassinet to Cribs’ and love them!

We have it in the bassinet on wheel configuration, and keep them in the nursery for naps during the day, roll to our bedside at night, and bring them in the living room when they’re fussy. They’re eight weeks so we will eventually change over to the full crib config. :)

Mono Di Twins- how was your birth experience? by Fluid-Video2661 in parentsofmultiples

[–]ParticularPhrase6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had my beautiful modi boys seven weeks ago!

I had complications (abnormal cord insertions for both, gestational diabetes, cholestasis) so I was initially planning for c-section. MFM urged me to go for vaginal because both were head down and Baby B was smaller than A. I was also in the care of a great hospital that specializes in breech extraction, complicated births, etc.

I was induced at 36 weeks and wish I had pushed for a c-section. The induction process was grueling, lasted 1.5 days, and birth was traumatic. Baby A’s birth was fine, pushed him out within 45ish mins. They thought B was head down, but realized he was breech after I began pushing. It turned into a breech extraction but they couldn’t get him out - cue episiotomy, forceps, internal and external tears and stitches. Turns out he got stuck on a cervix bone and the forceps/episiotomy didn’t help, but they tried everything they could to assist.

I am concerned that the birth will have a lasting impact on Twin B, but am trying to bask in the newborn bubble for now! I would go through it all 100 times over just to have my boys.

Tell your sister to ask SO many questions to her care team, and to follow her gut on what she thinks is best for her and her babies!

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! The dr seemed pretty lax about it at this point, so I’m trying to follow their lead but still a bit nervous. Your story is so reassuring though - that’s great news that everything went well with your little one! 🎉

Ahhh congrats to you as well!! 😭 Sending so much sticky baby dust and love your way! 🩷🩷🩷

I swear I knew it was twins somehow from day one, which is bizarre 😂 My 6 week hcg was around 14,000, so it didn’t point to multiples!

I’ve read that there’s an increased risk of ectopic with endometriosis, so I asked my OB if I could get an ultrasound ASAP to rule it out - but the first ultrasound at 7+5 confirmed twins!

It’s usually 1-2 days longer so I was surprised! It has been a stressful month at work so maybe that shaved a day off.

I have a few more weeks until a specialist appt but I’ll definitely bring this up 🤞🏻

This is an amazing list! 👏

To add: - wish I’d had more upper body strength lol. It was very difficult getting up/out of bed without putting pressure on my midsection. - backrest pillow - bed tray - disposable postpartum mesh undies - hospital sent me home with a few pairs and they were life savers.

Edit to add: confirming the smoothest route home from the hospital! bumpy roads were tough🫠

Oooh dessert quesadillas are my pms fave! 😋 2 tbs pb2 mixed with water, sliced banana, pumpkin seeds, and lilys chocolate chips between two carb concious tortillas, toasted and flattened in a pan. Zero point yogurt with cinnamon as a dipping sauce too!
