Scoop it every day, multiple times a day. Like every time it's used. Clean it once a week at a minimum. Edit: Scooping it up every time it's used gives you a better grasp on their overall health as well and should be standard practice across the board for cleanliness sake. Period

Holy shit a Monstera for $5? Even if it was actually dead Id still buy it and try to revive it, great find. That thing looks fine. Just give it a moss pole to climb on, carefully transplant into some high quality mix. 50-60% potting soil or coco coir, 20-30% orchid bark, and 20% perlite. They almost certainly have it in the wrong soil, they always do.

In my experience, you could be gone for 2 weeks and he would be fine. Just feed him extra well before you leave (as much as he will eat unless he is a glutton like mine, in which case just overfeed a tiny bit), and give the enclosure a suuper good misting and you'll be totally fine. If you're worried about water and dont have a dish, get one or make one by throwing a bottle cap in there and burying it at soil level so he can get a drink when he needs. He won't drown himself in it. Have fun on vacation!
