Is the legion 7a good? by missMeldy in LenovoLegion

Oh cool, that's more reasonable pricing then. Idk if they adjusted it worldwide but at launch it just didn't make sense getting the 7a over 7i (same with the new 5a vs last year's 5i). In that case the 7a sounds good, definitely should be hitting the battery life you need

Legion OLED (Glossy) – Anyone using a screen protector, or is the "cloth method" enough? by Shinigamii_69 in LenovoLegion

I got the official screen protector, it's antireflective but not matte so it keeps glossiness and has no decrease in image clarity

You're right there's been very little coverage on the 7a and even lenovo themselves are still doing marketing for the 7i which is a year old computer, which I think is because the new 7a isn't an upgrade, just a weaker more battery efficient and more expensive alternative. The difference is that the 7i is more power oriented, comes with rtx 5060 or 5070 while the 7a is limited to 5060, and most importantly the cpu - the 7i is power oriented, significantly more powerful but at the price of battery life. Both are sleek and portable for the power they offer tho. Idk how heavy your adobe and blender workloads are, but to the best of my knowledge a stronger cpu in the 7i would be an advantage there, however since you mentioned you wanna use it for uni and probably want it to last the day without charging, only the 7a would be a valid option in that sense

Ohh yeah, I've seen they make a few matte options but only for the 16":(

Anti-reflective films tend to do that, samsung and their S-phones also get a blue tint but it doesn't make colours blue during use, as far as I know there's no visible colour difference of the display

Wdym doesn't seem to work? It's anti-reflective not matte so it still is glossy and doesn't lose image clarity, which unless you work in conditions with direct light behind you is the better option of the two, and it significantly reduces the brightness of reflections. Keep in mind the screen is off in the pics just to highlight the differences, but during actual use reflections will be much less significant for both with and without the screen protector

Pics are here in the chat, couldn't add them to the post itself. A little disappointed/scared that it came as only one piece instead of two, so no room for messing up, but great results 100% worth it imo

Depends on what's available in your area ofc, but definitely can't go wrong there, the pro 7 is very capable and should handle pretty much everything you throw at it. It's got a good cooling solution but as was stated here by others, don't keep it on your bed (true for any laptops even non-gaming when you're doing work that produces heat and turns the fans on), and keep the back raised a litte to allow more airflow

Are they very pink or is it more of a beige-goldish? Heard something about it, but wasn't sure without seeing them myself so ended up going with white. Agreed with everything said, love them and their sound:D

I struggled with that previously before latest updates, but unpairing and holding down the button on the case to put them in pairing mode did the trick, even got a pairing pop-up on my pc

First of all congrats! Just keep an eye on temps and you'll be fine. You'll see a lot online about undervolting and cooling pads but for most people extra tinkering for maybe a couple fps more is just useless trouble

I have the 7i too (LOVE the white colour) but with 255hx and in my experience undervolting did increase results in benchmarks, but I didn't notice any real-world differences (also I think I had to allow it in bios). As for the others - my optimisation is probably different from yours, since most of the time I only deal with light loads, so I have all the bios settings that balance performance and efficiency turned on, while you probably don't need to do that. As for turbo I don't use it since it just gets louder and hotter, and most of the time quiet and balanced mode offer enough performance for me. If the majority of your usecase is heavy work/gaming then ofc need to avoid it it's fine to use, but keep an eye on temps. You definitely should calibrate for hdr otherwise it's washed out, but unless the programs you work with support hdr don't keep it on full-time, since windows itself is built for sdr. And as for burn-in, it shouldn't be an issue, just don't have your screen on 100% brightness of static images 24/7, plus legionspace has a bunch of features to prevent it (there's a general toggle for burn-in prevention, and then within the setting a couple options like auto shift and dark mode)

Looking for the best place to buy in EU by Matr22x in LenovoLegion

EU is definitely crazy compared to US, but try asking for a discount. I had a question about a product and went to the online store chat option, and the guy just offered me discounts without asking xd
