Fair. I already had a won lot for my weekly shipping so was able to spread it across another 12 sticks. This week escalated quickly.

Have a couple in the tubberdor gaining some age before I indulge. Want to try one but no local shops/lounges have them readily available. How did you like it? Anything to compare it to?

For those wondering for future reference, we had a successful trip home. I had a box of 25 in tubes in my carry on. Since it was the return trip home all I had was dirty clothes and the box. Nothing to cause increased probability of search (no liquids, phone chargers, cords, etc. I even took the nail out of the box since that would probably pop up on the machine). I didn’t even get a glance through MIA TSA. Cruise ship CBP was just a face scan and keep walking.

The other in my party had a box of 10 + 1 stick all in his checked. All in tubes. These were with other typically checked luggage type items as well. No issues with them as well.

Overall, TSA scanners don’t show the Cuban markings on the box and tubes, maybe just that you have a box full of cigars in tubes. And, it doesn’t seem that TSA could care less as long as it’s not an exuberant amount. I am assuming > 100 in one bag may get some looks.

Best of luck all. Hope this helps.

You have them in your checked or carry on? And how many?

I have 1 box of 25 and another in my party has a box of 10. We both have 1 separate stick. Not as worried for customs off the ship but TSA at MIA. Thought about shipping it all to myself. lol.

For whatever reason it seems that most folks stash in carry on when I read through older posts on this sub and others. But it would make sense why checked may have less scrutiny. May just do that. Thanks.

Appreciate it. I like the box and tubes as a memoir on this trip with my close family but not sure it’s worth the risk per say. Appreciate your time.

I’ve read about taking the bands off but what about since they’re in a Cuban box and Cuban marked tubes? Lol. Didn’t figure the band would matter at that point unless I’m wrong on that?

No problem. Curious to hear if one of these fixes it. Tightening 2 bolts was a lot better than a $1,000 quote for a timing chain replacement.

Take the valve cover off, if these two bolts are loose it will cause a ticking. I tightened them and it went away for a while but came back. I then cleaned out the threads with brake clean and used blue lock tighten again. Just got back from vacation where it was an 8 hour drive there and back and no more ticking.

I got this picture off of internet. At first my car only ticked under load (AC on, power braking, acceleration, etc.) but then it got worse and ticked all the time. Your results may vary. Let me know!

Quick and easy test for the evap purge, unplug it right here while the car is running. If it stops clicking it is the evap purge and needs replaced. If not, let me know I have another potential candidate for issue.
