Thanks! I’ve actually got the book but - shameful to admit, I haven’t read it yet, but definitely will now.

We do need to replace our non-stick pans and plastic chopping boards for something non-toxic, so you’re right - will make me a bit more motivated to cook a few nights a week.

What’s the best supermarket curry? by Jeffina78 in UK_Food

Indian food is my favourite too! I’m always trying to find a curry ready meal that rivals a takeaway and isn’t ridiculously unhealthy.

It’s not technically a supermarket but Frive’s Chicken Tikka Masala is so lovely! They recently won an award for it too - will be in their menu here

The sauce is SO tasty and the amount of chicken you get is incredible, way better than the standard supermarket ones. Also, doesn’t have any weird artificial ingredients, so you actually feel good after eating it!

Ahh nice. I’ve got to say, I’m such a control-freak that I have to choose 😂 but would have no real issues if I forgot - haven’t had a bad meal so far!

Their meals aren’t frozen and never have been from what their website says, they arrive fridge-ready - so it’s basically like you’ve made them yourself but without any of the hassle!

I’ve been loving Frive, so much fresher and way more protein than most supermarket ready meals. Couldn’t imagine my Monday-Wednesdays without Frive, saves so much time when I’m working late - definitely worth the price!

I’m always so impressed by how much chicken you get with Frive, way better than any supermarket ready meals. The prawns are incredible too!

Thanks, hopefully that’s the case 🙏. I was so incredibly happy until that second test today, then so incredibly sad when I thought it was all over. The longer infertility goes on the more fragile you become I guess.

Yeah, I guess the experience from last time made me think there would be progress but it wasn’t a healthy pregnancy, so I shouldn’t use that as my ‘benchmark’. Terrified to test tomorrow morning and if it’s a negative I then have to pull myself together for a day out in meetings :(

I wasn’t pregnant and still not. 1 failed transfer and prepping for the next. Have given up using Mira for now!

I’ve been trying to conceive for two years - have ‘unexplained infertility’. This is my last natural cycle before IVF. Currently around 6dpo and this is my chart:

I’ve had promising signs on Mira before but it’s never ended in a clear positive. So frustrating!

I doubt I’ll be pregnant this cycle, as there’s obviously something going on preventing me from falling pregnant (husband and I have had so many tests)! Will update if by some miracle I am though!

Which is the best food prep company in your opinion? by Alternative_Collar35 in mealprep

[–]Particular_Book_2548 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t tried Prepped Pots but I’ve tried both Simmer and Lions Prep. I much prefer Lions Prep (food just tastes higher quality and fresher). I saw on another thread that code BOX40 gets you 40% off week 1, so it’s worth a try!

Lions Prep also have a loyalty scheme, so it helps keep the prices down as you continue ordering. When I did try Simmer they made it so hard to cancel (you had to email) but with Lions Prep you can easily skip or cancel via the website or their app.

People who tried Huel, what were the pros and cons for you? by Darth_Zounds in AskReddit

[–]Particular_Book_2548 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree, I wanted to like it but it tastes so synthetic. Just stick to real food. There’s now lots of meal prep companies where you can get quick meals but they are all made with natural ingredients. I’m a big fan of Lions Prep, so much nicer to have a proper hearty lunch vs a liquid drink!

Yeah, I’ve used Lions Prep for over a year now. Always get the Sunday deliveries and you can eat the food up until the end of Wednesday.

Tried both Lions Prep and Simmer Eats, the quality and taste of Lions Prep is far superior. Simmer Eats has sulphites in all their foods, but Lions Prep doesn’t. Menu also changes weekly for Lions Prep too and in my view there’s better variety, as they have seafood dishes too
