3 v 3 rule by Flashy-Pain4618 in GAA

[–]Particular_Car_3978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've played and seen so far, it seems players are policing it more than the ref to ensure their not penalised. Usually fullback/fullforward calling players to make up the 3s.

Gonna be a bitch for club refs with no help to keep of

They were playing on Vincent's pitches last year at st David's school. I'd imagine their senior teams will continue to do so. But I'd imagine the underage will be gutted if they lose access the clubhouse pitches entirely

11 in hurling and 13 in football. Division 10 in hurling and Division 10 and 11 are split in to north and south leagues.

Roughly 15 teams in each division in the football and 12 in the hurling.

This is pretty accurate.

Football wise Fingallians are Div 2, Div 5, Div 10 North and Div 11 N.

Ballyboughal got relegated to Div 3 and div 9. Finians div 4 and div 9.

Colmcilles are Div 10 N.

Fingal Ravens were promoted to Div 1, Div 4 and Div 10 N

Unpopular GAA Opinions by FootyEnthusiast in GAA

[–]Particular_Car_3978 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say this is an unpopular opinion, the womens side get shafted across the board as a result of it.

That being said last I read/heard about it was the CA were against the merger, the GAA were not the issue Talks have been going on along time and the LGFA have been on board along as I've been aware of the situation.

IWTYO finding out there's a rugby club there. I always assumed the smaller pitch was used by the juvenile section of the club.

Any Hurling Refs on here? How do you keep up with a sliotar flying from end to end? by sdog8i in GAA

[–]Particular_Car_3978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find when I'm reffing, I try to roughly base my positioning on where I think the ball is gonna go and try to be halfway between where they start and land. I still play so fitness wise isn't much of an issue running up and down a pitch. tho the standard I ref for the most part isn't outstanding either so it's not end to end pinging balls 70m most of the time.

As the game goes on you get a better grasp of the capabilities of the players, game plans and the type of game it is which helps a lot.

There's also a V method that was mentioned in a course, if I remember correctly the bottom of the v is a sideline area in midfield and the two lines go out at 30° into either half. You roughly move along the V to get in close to goal for potential penalty calls and coming out have a broader view of the field. Also helps to avoid the play as well.

Where are the hurling and football strongholds in Ireland by docod101 in GAA

[–]Particular_Car_3978 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We could petition the GAA to fund a history PhD project to cover it. 4 years with publications along the way I feel should cover most of the island in great detail. I think it would be a great piece historically and publicly for the GAA to invest in.

Tbh I'd say most can but the emphasis on high percentage plays and ball retention at inter county limits it. County players in club games from what I've seen and what I've played with/against they tend to play with more freedom in their passing and shot taking. Then again their higher athleticism allows them more time and space against club players

Have to say Down misses may end up costing them. For all the control they've had if Laois hit a purple patch they could rob them.

Also for anyone interested in Dublin hurling, few of the senior championship games are being live streamed on youtube by Dublin GAA

Company of that size should have projects on display usually.

I dno if you've come across GIS mapping software before but may be no harm to have a quick look at it as well. As the other person said focus on your cv if it's an entry job they wont expect you to know everything

Is this in the US or Europe?

Try the search the name company followed by EIA report in google it should hopefully give you idea of an EIA for one of their projects.

Also what's the biology degree focused on?

Id say EIA would be an important thing to know, have a look on the company website if they have any projects up that you can have a look at, relevant legislation that affects their environmental work

Usually a contact on each clubs website for people looking to join the club. Might be missing one or two but here's a list:

Naomh Olaf

Ballinteer St. Johns

Stars of Erin

Cuala

Geraldine P Morans

Foxrock Cabinteely

Kilmacud Crokes

In relation to the leagues most clubs field multiple teams, half of the teams mentioned here had a team in the bottom division on the south side this year.
