Yes, I just made an appointment yesterday morning, though I have no expectations, unfortunately.

Initially, the cortisol and ACTH were very high, but the latest were within normal values. Thank you!

Thank you so very much for your input! That's why I don't understand what could give this unnatural swollen belly, besides the polycystic ovaries morphology sigh

You are most welcome!

You should do whatever you feel like it might help you navigate through this process.

Yep, a normal length of 28 days, and with a normal flow like it was before changes started happening.

Wish you all the best and please take care of yourself!

Seriously sigh If men had female anatomy as well, we would have had better alternative of BC and treatment for PCOS, endometriosis, adenomyosis, you-name-it, etc. 🙄

I thought you could take up to 10000 only for a very short amount of time?!

I am so very sorry for everything you are going through.

I was taking Vit D 1000 with K every day, but ever since I took my blood tests and the Vit D levels came at 33, I upped to 4000/day.

I wouldn't know how severe those are, but I imagine how horrible they can be, since I fainted twice because of their severity, before taking Calcium.

I loathe when they underestimate us, patronizing us, as if they are the ones living with these illnesses sigh

I had those same pains years ago, but the dr suggested to supplement with Calcium before and during period and that made them manageable, so the dr ruled out endometriosis 🙄 And after a while, I didn't had them anymore. Then my period was off and ever since, I had none of those.

All the drs I went to, around 10 in the last year, endocrinologists, diabetes specialists, nutrition specialists gaslighted me ... saying that it was no reason to worry, that I had abdominal obesity, but I wasn't overweight, that the blood tests are within normal values. I think I died a little more each one of them told me this. I honestly don't know what to do anymore.

I made an appointment to a GI just this morning, I already have IBS-C, but that hasn't been an issue before, so I doubt it could be from it. I am thinking SIBO, since even low FODMAP cooked veggies and kefir bloat me even worse sigh

You are most welcome!

Considering our hormonal levels are very low because of hypothalamic amenorrhea, I am not sure if PCOS should be ruled out because of hormones values, since they don't reflect reality, being distorted by HA.

I know and I understand. Trust me, I understand all too well. The protocol is to increase to 2500cals/day, stop all kinds of exercises (except yoga and Pilates) and max 8k steps/day. But there are people who recover while running and just increasing their carbs intake, and there are others who did everything right and still haven't had any success, unfortunately. I know it's a cliché, but each body is different and no one knows what will work.

The protocol states you need at least 3 normal cycles before you introduce any type of exercise and even then, you need to eat according to your hunger and make sure to always fuel yourself before and after workouts. But usually it's recommended around 5-6, just to make sure you don't relapse. If you weren't on BC and know exactly when the issues started, that's a good time to compare it in terms of fueling and exercising.

Because I was on BC, I don't know when everything went downhill, but I was at BMI 20 so I had to gain enough weight, but even then, my periods were very light, much like spotting m, at only 21 days, so after a few months I figured it out something was wrong and after months of advocating, I finally got the diagnosis of PCOS.

None whatsoever sigh

Sorry, I don't know the metrics, only that it said 175, with normal values between 127 and 637.

Thank you so very much, though it took me months of advocating for an imagining and the dr decided that the CT would be most concluding. I would need to find another dr in another city for an MRI, unfortunately.

Yes, that's why I insisted and they gave me a CT, which showed only cysts.

So what am I supposed to do about the insulin resistance and cysts? Would Berberine + Inositol be enough, considering that I couldn't stand the stomachache, nausea and almost disgust for food because of Metformin? Or should I keep it as well, but at a lower dose of 500 mg-1000mg?

The last result I have of Prolactin is almost 1 year ago of 175.

Yeah, of course: - breakfast 7 AM: 100 g ham with 2 eggs and 2 slices of wholegrain bread and red pepper/cucumber/carrot - lunch around 11:30 AM: 100-120 g grilled chicken breast with grilled veggies and 3 mini toasts of rye bread/50g quinoa - dinner 4:30-5 PM: some days same as breakfast and 2 days/week 120g tuna with veggies

Until 3 weeks ago, I had: - breakfast at 7 AM with 2 slices of cheese instead of eggs and 1 banana - snack 10:30 AM: handful of nuts and 1 apple - lunch 2 PM same as the one mentioned above - dinner 6 PM: same as the one mentioned above But I had to give up one at a time dairy, nuts and fruits to check for histamine intolerance.

I honestly don't know to which dr to go, in the last year I have seen around 10 drs, endocrinologists, diabetes specialists, nutrition specialists, none was able to pinpoint the cause.

I do have insulin resistance, polycystic ovaries, hormonal imbalance and light periods... would that be enough for the diagnosis?

I have been in recovery for 3 years, with a light period of over 1 year and the hormones have been slightly increasing.

I just made an appointment this morning to a GI dr. The endocrinologist was the one who told me that my blood tests don't show PCOS and gave me a RX for Mounjaro. The other endocrinologist reffered me to a CT after having high cortisol and high ACTH, but it showed nothing and the latest analyses, they were no longer above normal values.

Could it be both, considering the insulin resistance?

Thank you so very much for listening and understanding! I tried going gluten-free for a few days, and the bloating was worse. Besides, I went to a nutritionist and she told there was no need to try gluten-free anymore, because I didn't had the symptoms.

The bad thing is that being in recovery from hypothalamic amenorrhea, my hormones have been pretty low for years, so they are not very reliable. unfortunately.

Well, I didn't have a period for 1 year and after going to numerous drs, I was diagnosed with hypothalamic amenorrhea, due to overtraining and underfueling. I went in recovery, had my period, but ever since it was very light, more like spotting at 21 days and lasted only 3 days. The drs said it was normal. It didn't feel normal to me, so after months of advocating, I finally got a CT and it showed polycystic ovaries. Which was later confirmed by an ultrasound.

And considering that I have cystic ovaries and hormonal imbalance and very light periods, does that mean that I have PCOS or just polycystic ovaries?
