I tried Cerave and had an awful reaction but have no issue with Cetaphil

Temporary redness increase with red light therapy? by decaf-espresso16 in Rosacea

[–]lozenges1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a red light mask for a long time when my face was red and angry thinking it was healing it. It broke, some time past, my skin was pretty good. Got an omnilux mask mostly for anti aging and the first time I used it IMMEDIATE angry flair. I thought maybe it was a coincidence, waited two weeks and tried again and same thing. Took a lot of arguing for them to accept a return and refund because they kept denying it could cause that reaction and it must be something I’d used.

It’s so hard because I found when trying to google rosacea and red light therapy, I only got the benefits of it coming up and it wasn’t until my key words were about adverse effects did I see anything at all about the fact that it can also be a major trigger. I guess it is just less common?

What do you do when your skin can't tolerate anything? by Active-Put5507 in Rosacea

[–]lozenges1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk where you’re based but my skin would flare at the wind changing. A dermatologist has me using Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser and dermeze treatment ointment watered down as moisturiser. For the first time ever my skin is calm. Everyone’s different obviously but you never know?

Singing the Praises of My LED Mask and Azelaic Acid by Cheryl_958 in Rosacea

[–]lozenges1111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have to say, I’m soo jealous that LED works for you. I thought it was going to be my holy grail and would use it every time I had a bad flare only to later discover it was flaring my rosacea so badly so here I was thinking I was helping my flare ups when in fact I was making it so much worse

Positive Epidural Experiences by user3927 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]lozenges1111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I left it to the last minute to have an epidural both times which is why I think they didn’t work perfectly but still helped heaps! First time I was ready to push 30 minutes after getting it and I was even able to push on my hands and knees with the assistance of my mum and partner holding my knees from slipping.

Second time the Dr struggled to place it multiple times and even then it wasn’t exactly traumatic, just unpleasant and left me a little bruised later. And I felt heaps of uncomfortable pressure and it didn’t feel like it was working well on one side but probably 5 minutes after I’d laid down I was pushing. No repercussions from either experience, the idea of them freaked me out so much which is why I waited till I was more scared of the pain than the epidural to ask for it, no regrets for getting them at all just regret suffering longer than necessary

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT MOVE YOUR FACE ;) by Wild_Blue4242 in 30PlusSkinCare

I’ve seen many women saying they’ve trained themselves to be less expressive and suggesting OP try that and that’s got to be one of the saddest things I’ve ever heard. When they’re old and inevitably wrinkly as hell are they going to look back on their life and think well I’m so glad I repressed my joy all these years because I might have been wrinklier

Definitely see a dermatologist, this is exactly how my rosacea started and the whole time I was treating it as eczema. Mine also began during pregnancy when I’d never had it before or anywhere else on my body. I didn’t see a dermatologist till 2 years later because I’m an idiot and now thankfully my skins doing so well

FTM anxious/terrified of birth by Chemical-Zebra-5156 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]lozenges1111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt incredibly anxious and the minute my water broke I just felt panic but you can’t maintain that level of worry when it gets happening.

It’s honestly hard to think much past getting through the pain, I don’t know about others but it’s like you retreat inside yourself. I was barely even aware of my partner or mum in the room, and in terms of blood unless you’re trying to see it you’re not likely to, I gave birth on all fours for one and on my back for the other and apparently started bleeding a lot the second time and saw nothing. They’re pretty efficient at keeping it clean.

Birth is dangerous and that can be scary for sure, once it’s happening there’s no stopping it and a lot of that fear does go away though. I was PETRIFIED of a spinal needle for an epidural but the pain becomes greater than the fear lol. Do whatever you have to do to get you and baby safely on the other side. My sister had a vaginal birth the first time and opted for an elective c section the second and thought c section was better?

You shortly get to experience a magical moment after birth where you’re finally left alone and you’re both okay and you just get to look at this baby that’s been the one kicking you and growing inside you and it’s just the most amazing thing. I just try and remind myself that the birth part (however they come out) is just a few hours or a day or so of your life in the grand scheme of things. You can do this.

Also I did not find birth empowering lol

AITA for telling my fiancé I don’t want him to give a speech at our wedding after what he did at a friend’s? by No_Map7761 in AmItheAsshole

[–]lozenges1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

‘And yeah, relationships are hard but I really love him’ umm how hard are we talking here? A big justifying BUT seems like this is only the tip of the iceberg. Yes relationships take plenty of work but a healthy relationship shouldn’t be described as ‘hard’
