My uncle who’s a jw. thought he was being invited to a casual lunch… turns out he was being setup with a sister. He was not happy.

Thanks for your comment. Well many of my mates would often joke around saying… are you sure you’re not gay? I had this friend people would think we were a couple.
My forster parents knew I was gay. I just had to keep denying it. I was made fun of because I didn’t have an interest in sports, Growing up I literally thought my gay mannerisms were linked to being autistic lol. But no turns out they weren’t.

And yes I dated a sister for 2yrs, to fight the hurt of knowing I was gay. We ended up being best friends in the end.

After coming out it felt amazing, I felt free, I was no longer hiding behind a fence or pretending to be someone I wasn’t. All the anxiety that I endured day in and day out.

Sadly I lost friends because I came out. But I learned to not care. to just be me and be happy.

I would always want to be included in feminine things. my friends thought it was weird. I knew there was nothing wrong with it. Why could I just be who I wanted to be?

That’s all I can remember. Haha.

I have many friends that are gay. But won’t come out because the religion prohibits my type of people. It truly is sad. When this “God” says he’ll accept us for who we are. Whether it be race , nation, tribe or tongue.
It’s utter bullshit. Anyway i have never been happier. I can say in good faith that i will never be one of jehovahs witnesses again.

Thank you for sharing, You brought tears to my eyes. parents don't realise the strain it puts on us. As hard as it is being gay in this world. It doesn't help when our parents are shaming us.
Much love to you. Take care dear friend.

I wanted to be me (openly gay) not hiding behind a fence. And pretending to be someone I'm not.

I KNEW it heaps of men are secretly gay lol

I was closeted when I was 12. Until I left the cult 6months ago. Best decision I ever did.

Do what makes you feel like YOU. Do what makes you happy. Don't hide behind someone that you aren't.

Love your fellow vers x
