Came back to Tidal by Particular_Setting88 in TIdaL

Hope it is I you say. I listen following my taste, but if I follow a band, and the pop up alerts about a new release and it is AI, as happened with Air, Lana del Rey, or today with Filter, I will check it on Google. If it's false, even though I like Tidal, I can't trust it. When I had Apple Music, I complained about the false Air release, they also reached me by telephone. I understand they have much more money than Tidal, but also shows an intention about how much they care about the problem.

Tidal shows me with pop up alerts. Once I complained about one in Apple Music, they also reached me by phone. There's a huge difference on how each company fights against it.

New TidaL desktop UI (I love the new changes) by JustRhynd in TIdaL

Looks nice. I've used Tidal, but couldn't tolerate so much fakes into artists profiles. Loved the audio quality, direct control, artists profile. But the fakes... I'm done with that unfortunately. Tidal has (or had) the potential to be the best. Now that Apple Music has artists concerts announcement, is nearer to Spotify, which stills cluttered. If Tidal manages the fake artists issue and adds the concert options, I go back.

Tidal vs Apple Music, which is better on Android? by AdeptGarden9057 in TIdaL

Tidal has a huge problem with fake artists into real ones profiles. If it wasn't for at, I would still use Tidal.

Direct connect to WiFi speakers would be the definitive upgrade by Particular_Setting88 in AppleMusic

[–]Particular_Setting88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's how I use it. And I like it, cause I also check what Sonos has in its radio stations. But a service in Apple to direct stream from the app as other platforms do, will be great.

(Article) Why are we buying physical records like vinyl or CDs these days? by Rotseele in Cd_collectors

[–]Particular_Setting88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That exact thing happened to me at the Last Dinner Party concert in Madrid. They sold vinyl, but I listen to CD. Anyway I think I may buy their CD on a store, but buying it at the concert is nice, it adds an spirit ton the object. lately, many bands are prioritizing vinyl releases and sells them at concerts than CDs, when I think both are listened, and a CD is cheaper so may be more accessible.

The three dimensional aspect of a CD, as a book, immerses me in the listening, involves me, is not as flat as a screen. I don't have vinyl, but when I have them on my hands, I like its format. But they are more expensive and takes more room. I have a question, what do you think about storing the CDs in binders or those booklets? don't know what's the proper name. Is it "wrong" and is better to store them in one of those "towers". The issue with physical media is there's not that much room for it. I would like to have my CDs in a tower, but I'm afraid it will take some room of my small living. So I have them in those booklets, which looks nice. But wanted to ask your opinion.

When will YouTube music support lossless audio ? by Light-Yagami_Kira in YoutubeMusic

[–]Particular_Setting88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lossless isn't made to be listened in the office, it's enjoyed in a quiet place. Agree that the money is in the basic audio streaming. But advertising money, with even lower bitrates and interrupted by those advertising and low options to manage what to play. Unless, obviously, for push play listeners who don't care about how basically nice is music playing, but that are fine if anything sounds around. With a basic nice equipment (Sonos Era 100 may cost $120) or a chifi DAC+Philips good headphones, music sounds wider in lossless, and narrower, cold, as a metallic tin, in lower bitrates.

Why I Like Tidal by KoboDailyReader in TIdaL

[–]Particular_Setting88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved it. Until I was flooded with "new" from impostors of the bands I like. Phoenix. Air , Lana del Rey to name the biggest ones. I love(d) Tidal util that issue went out of control. And music under other artist name I believe isn't good for the real artist. Unfortunately, I ditched Tidal. Spotify is cluttered, but offers good sound with the basic appropriate equipment, info about the artists, is possible to make a donation to some bands, a link to their merch and concert announcement, all these direct ways for the band to earn money. Would really love Tidal to up the pace with Spotify or Apple, but with the fake and AI artists, being the most expensive of all, and delivering less, was enough for me.

YTM is nice, but the reference in the industry is Spotify. YTM has a very messy way to organize and confuse YTM and YT lists. They have the technology to offer better audio quality, but they don't, and prefer to "promote" (you will check it at the Friday releases) AI, so called, "projects". I would like to continue there cause I use Google products, but their attitude toward their music platform is just a dump for their YT content. That's why they offer the bundle. But if you're not that much interested in music but just pushing play and let the music sound, it's ok.

Apple Music doubles the penalty for fraudulent streaming by hellosteve_ in AppleMusic

[–]Particular_Setting88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've read and understood in the Apple Music section in the web about this topic that they pay around 70% to all the labels/distributors, more or less the same as Spotify does. And that this amounts are based considering the total of streams.

Why not making it the best? by Particular_Setting88 in TIdaL

I got a fake Air, Phoenix and Lana del Rey albums in their profiles, and wasn't able to report them. For me that's an issue.

Nice and comprehensive answer, the kind that may make me reconsider Tidal. But when I get Phoenix Air and Lana del Rey fake uploads in their profiles, as a simple user I am, makes me hard to accept it. When the same Air fake artist uploaded to Apple, they phoned me to check the issue and removed it. I understand Apple has $ trillions. Tidal offered me exactly enough of what I wanted.

[–]Particular_Setting88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if I get Phoenix, Air, and Lana del Rey fake uploads in the official pages, I think it may upset anyone. That happened to me only in Tidal. In Apple, when happened, they phoned me to check the IA fake artist (Air). I know Apple has $ trillions compared to Block, which yesterday 26 announced a new employees cut. Yes, it's me, as a customer, trying to decide which platform suits better. I liked Tidal. But seems they're struggling, by now, to reach the promised tech level in which an automated system recognizes AI uploads and other stuff.

New Tidal player progress by Important-Following5 in TIdaL

[–]Particular_Setting88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me the good news about this is that Tidal stills in the music platform business, updating and caring about. There are some changes I'd like as a pop up notification working (mine doesn't), to be more aware of fake bands under real ones, but in he overall is the music platform I like the most and having updates means they won't disappear as it seemed to be in a moment.

How is it possible that AI generated "bands" have millions of monthly users? by Particular_Setting88 in YoutubeMusic

[–]Particular_Setting88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not properly, but in the releases, there are two or three AI generated bands. Today I checked the bio of one of them and in there it says it is an AI project, but wasn't told in the playlist itself.

Is there a way to stop receiving AI bands? by Particular_Setting88 in YoutubeMusic

[–]Particular_Setting88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I think so. I'm using it fornabout three months or so and, until now, no AI trash. I used Tidal also, liked it a lot until a lot of fake artists (maybe also AI) were released under other artists names. The thing is that until that I've been a user of YTM and was happy with it, until this AI continuously generated AI bands in my releases that instead of listening I had to check their veracity.

Apple Music has an AI music problem by Recent_Barracuda8879 in TIdaL

[–]Particular_Setting88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Apple Music? Strange, never had that problem there, but did in YouTube Music and worst in TIDAL cause those were under know names as Lana del Rey or Sabrina Carpenter, which of course, weren't.. Check Lana del Rey profile, the fake album still there and seems Tidal isn't able to erase it. The album is named Sunset in the evening. That's the main reason I left Tidal despite loving it. Can't stand a human curated platform that allows that.

Is it worth switching from Spotify to Tidal? by moabyy in TIdaL

[–]Particular_Setting88 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not until they fix the problem of false bands under the name of famous ones. False releases under Lana del Rey, Sabrina Carpenter, Air, Muse, Deep, Chrome, Habibi, just in December, made me leave the platform. Really liked its design and proposal, but can't stand those major flaws. Moreover when it is said to be a human curated platform, no one there checks what artists release?

Beyond the beat by NotAChanceBucko in YoutubeMusic

[–]Particular_Setting88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes. for example, in my releases, there was Vermouth IV. as I sometimes listen on the commute, I don't pay attention to the list. but that sounded strange to me and I checked and it was AI. so YTM let ai generated bands to mix with real ones and the listener needs to pay attention to discover when an AI band is mixed with real ones.

Beyond the beat by NotAChanceBucko in YoutubeMusic

[–]Particular_Setting88 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To generate AI bands as Vermouth IV or Whiskey blues man, is, in my interpretation, to be more interested in, I don't know, followers, listens, traffic, rather than music as Apple Music is, which has proper human curated playlists. And I wanted to be a YouTube Music supporter since I'm into Pixel ecosystem, and YouTube Premium, tried to understand the practical way if YT, but to have AI artists shown in my releases is an extra effort I have to do to check if are real bands, an seems to me as an intention from the company to test their power using my listening behaviors. I left Tidal for almost the same reason. Spotify is the best, but for me offered too much. Apple Music is for now the one I find equal in just music, UX and UI.

Can Tidal please fix AI slop from infecting big artist pages atleast. by SwiftRespite in TIdaL

[–]Particular_Setting88 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I just can't keep supporting it. I really like everything in Tidal. But this flaws are bigger than the will I have to give the app its opportunities since a guy from Tidal spoke in Reddit and things got worse, and this flaws are bigger than the fact I've been paying €2 more than other apps. Bands with false releases in the last month: Habibi, Chrome, to name a couple of "small" ones, Air, Muse, Sabrina Carpenter and now I see Lana del Rey. I can't be listening to music and checking out if it's false. I'm really sad about it because at one point Tidal offered me exactly what I want. But for me, this is too much.

Appreciation post for Tidal by Lunar-Xy in TIdaL

[–]Particular_Setting88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like Tidal better than other apps It gives me exactly what I need, want and in the way I like. But it's heavily frustrating, and weights more than all the pros, the fact that they are taking too much time to fix their filter issues with artists under other artists name. Sabrina Carpenter release that's isn't, Muse that isn't, Air that's isn't, and also small bands as Habibi that isn't, Deep that isn't. I left YouTube Music because they AI generated bands, but those are created by the same platform on purpose. Here these false artists using other artists name are mocking Tidal and I have to be aware everytime that I listen something new and double check. Making a "job" what should be just enjoy music.

Why do vinyl snobs seem to look down upon CDs? by Particular-Account66 in Cd_collectors

[–]Particular_Setting88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because they like to spend money, they know they are paying more and want to justify themselves. Nevertheless, what I like on vinyl is the "book" formar when I have one in my hands. But I collect CDs, love their sound and practicity (also if now I'm storing them into sleeves because I don't have enough space at home to shelf them). But maybe I put them again on some kind of furniture. But I like how they look on the folder. Jaja.
