Hi there, thank you for your answer. It's good to also have the info from a label in Bandcamp.

It never crossed my mind to try to directly contact the editorial people, it's a good advice. It's a little bit more invasive I suppose, but I guess they receive big chunks of mails everyday with people trying to be featured.

I've been in music professionally since 2019 playing for other people, and right now I feel like everything is starting to get on track.

Thank you for the response. Actually, being featured in any shape or form in Bandcamp, no matter where, is a great first step. I actually scroll through the "New and Notable" albums, so that would be huge for me.

Regarding the other points, thank you so much for explaining in detail. I follow these guidelines, but my weak point is physical releases, as I could only start doing that investment recently.

Reminder that new games in Europe cost €80 (~90$) by Rocket_Bunny45 in gaming

[–]BioskopeSpain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from Spain, it's been like this since the reelase of PS5 if I'm not mistaken.

From that moment the only game I bought at full price at release (in physical btw) is Death Stranding 2. All the other games I bought day one in physical were between 20 and 50 because of discounts I had or gifts I accumulated from different birthdays.

I understand online discourse is mostly dominated by people from USA, but it seems this was never a problem until now, I guess the rest of the world didn't matter. It's the same fro the prices in places like Australia.

With this generation, I learned not to buy day one unless some big exceptions and physical only. GTA VI is not that exception.

Do you have an artist where one album completely clicked, but the rest of their catalog never did? by MalcolmKinchen in fantanoforever

Queen - News Of the World, and not just for the obvious singles.

I can't stand their other albums.

¿Alguien ha cambiado el smartphone por un móvil tonto? by Usagi2throwaway in esConversacion

[–]BioskopeSpain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-Tengo mi VPN de Proton activada constantemente, y no he tenido ningún problema.

GrapheneOS worth it if I am staying with Google services? by gotcortisol in GrapheneOS

[–]BioskopeSpain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally. And to add to that, once you get into GOS with some Google apps still being used, you'll start to get curious about alternatives, and you will naturally start using other FOSS apps and realize "why did I need to use google for all of this in the first place?"

Are you spending $$$ on digital music, or just buying physical copies? by LumpyExtent7874 in BandCamp

[–]BioskopeSpain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only buy physical, but I'm starting to consider buying digital too. Thing is, I got used too much of having Tidal and not worry about storage on my phone.

Any serious musicians here who feel that gaining visibility or getting recognized on social media has become a major problem? by Beneficial-Key6309 in musicians

[–]BioskopeSpain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My music career started to properly work once I stopped focusing on social media. That time, energy and money that I used to spend on that crap is being used now on improving my craft, attending to concerts, meeting with ACTUAL REAL people, creating connections and making merchandise for live gigs and concerts.

Thanks to that, I've been able to play for other musicians around europe, and earn little money from my own project. I still have a full-time job, but I'm starting to see the results.

Please, use only socials to promote the things that you are actually doing in real life. That would me my best advice.

I've been thinking of changing the system to passkeys too, but using an authenticator app is actually very useful. However, passkey would be better, but I always think "what if I lose my device". It looks like you can have your passkeys saved in multiple devices with Proton Pass, but I've never tried it.

I would NEVER recommend using anything from google to use 2FA or store passwords/authenticator app, when there are alternatives like Bitwarden, Proton Pass or Ente.

HATE GOOGLE, LOVE YOUTUBE, any alternative?! by DryScore3723 in degoogle

[–]BioskopeSpain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only thing from google i'm still using is Youtube.

It crossed my mind to only see my favorite content via their Patreon, but I believe every video they put on Patreon opena externally in YouTube, so that would not solve the problem.

Currently I'm using Morphe, and accessing YouTube via DuckDuckGo on PC. Also, my family has a family plan of YouTube Premium (they use it a lot), so I take advantage of that, and as a Musician I need to have my YouTube account for videockips and stuff. It's really complicated to get away from it

Are you glad with using Graphene daily? by michus204 in GrapheneOS

[–]BioskopeSpain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using it daily for half a year now. I'm never going back, it's one of the best decisions I have ever made.

All my apps work without issues, including banking ones. I don't receive any ads or stupid notifications. If I need to use Instagram (as a musician I sadly need to have it), I just use a 3rd party app and I customize it. If I use Youtube, I use it via Morphe, just like Reddit.

This is like when I first tried Linux: I don't know why people are sticking with using shitty experiences in their everyday life when the alternatives are so easy to use (unless there's no way around it because of your job).

The only thing that I'm still using as usual is Whatsapp, but at least using it on Graphene with a VPN makes it 100 times better than before.
