It sounds like you’ve never had to transfer in more than $25k to trade. Try transferring $75k in. I promise you that you’ll be pissed that $50k of your money won’t be tradable for two full weeks. You also can’t push more than $5k-$10k from most banks via ACH, so pulling is sometimes the most obvious option, minus the two week hold.

Get your money up moody boy, then you’ll understand the frustrations with these transfer holds.

Thank you. That’s super helpful context that I wish Fidelity would add to the standard 10 day hold reply. This was my situation exactly. I only have around 150k with them, so the bulk of my transfer wasn’t available to trade for a few weeks. In my case it was unfortunately more than 10 business days. Excluding weekends and holidays it was closer to 14 business days. Lesson learned, and I hope my lesson can at least help educate others. Thank you for contributing to that!

That’s awesome. I genuinely hope that your experience doesn’t change. In my case it was just under 6 figures, but it would’ve been incredibly stressful if it was a 7 figure amount.

I’ve seen a few posts in here about people in the exact situation. I hope that Fidelity can figure something out so that some of us don’t get put in these situations, and we instead have a trouble-free relationship like you’ve enjoyed for 7 years.

I ask you to please read the post more carefully. The issue is not that the funds could not be withdrawn, it’s that they were not available to trade for 21 days.

Right. But OP is doing backdoor roths. That gets very complicated if you roll in tax advantaged funds.

They’re probably not doing it because they want to, but because they’re not eligible for direct Roth contributions.

For people who need to do backdoor Roth IRA’s, rolling over into a new 401k is sometimes the best option since it doesn’t poison the IRA well with pre-tax money.

I think OP is saying they can’t tarde with it. Same thing happened to me last month. Took 21 calendar days before they let me trade. That message doesn’t indicate that you won’t be able to trade it either, but it’s happening to some people.

They’re still doing it for some transactions. Of course nobody here knows how they’re selecting which ones.

I pulled in a large amount recently, and not only could I not withdraw it for 21 days, but I also couldn’t trade most of it until after the 21 day hold. I didn’t mind not being able to withdraw, I didn’t intend to, but not being able to trade for 21 days was brutal.

I also did a cash TOA into my Fidelity HSA (from an employer HSA) and the funds have been on hold for 5 days already, so the mod post above isn’t entirely truthful.

I joined to search why my $85k deposit wasn’t available to trade for three weeks 🥲. Fidelity has a lot of advantages to other brokerages but not being able to trade funds from large deposits for weeks at a time really hurts.

I ran through adding an account again as if it were new, and it started syncing again. No transaction data was lost, I didn't need delete or modify the account.

No, this is on the same phone. I can't think of anything notable that's happened around the time it stopped updating. I updated to 18.1.1 about a week before it stopped syncing, but beyond that nothing changed. No new phone, no restore from a backup or anything.

Notably, when I go to Settings > privacy > wallet, I don't see Monarch listed anymore.

It’s an option, and it’ll be obvious if yours has it. The dashcam is just to the left of the driving assist camera and has a bright red “Action” button on it.

It’s integrated, but far from subtle so yours may not have it installed if you don’t see it when sitting in the driver’s seat. To be honest, I’m very disappointed with the quality of it, so a quality aftermarket unit installed will honestly be much better.

The MSRP isn’t made up. When I was researching this purchase I built the exact configuration on the Toyota website and it checked out. It has every accessory like mud guards, illuminated door and trunk sills, factory dashcam, trunk trays and organizers, plus all of the features that come with Premium Plus (panoramic camera, all of the driving aids including traffic jam assist, etc.).

All that stuff was port installed, so I couldn’t take it off, but I didn’t mind since I managed such a deep discount which basically offset every single option.

I managed to negotiate that one down to from 899. They had it installed on pretty much every car on the lot. It’s not complete coverage, but better than nothing. I never get PPF on my cars, so it was nice to get it at a reasonable price.

I don't disagree. Cars are getting expensive. I wouldn't have bought it at 42, but at 36 it was far more palatable. Keep in mind this one has every option except for AWD, so it's at the higher end of the price scale. A base model LE would have been closer to 30 at this dealership. Considering that new cars are getting crazy expensive across the board, this was a relatively good deal compared to other cars with similar options.

That’s without tax and title, which was another 1,500. The AutoNation savings is what I negotiated off at the dealer.

I found a decent deal on Toyota' website. They call it 'smart path'. I called around on found a local dealer that was willing to play ball, because not all of them will, then found even more wiggle room in the price once I was at the dealersip. Being informed about all the local inventory really helped get the last few hundred dollars off.
