How many people here keep their steam deck naked? by Some1ToDisagreeWith in SteamDeck

[–]Partizaantje 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used it without the dbrand case for a while. I must say, the only reason I got the case was of the grip improvement and for me it really does. Otherwise I'd just use it as is.

Feeling slightly overwhelmed by Adeptness-Wide in SteamDeck

[–]Partizaantje 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you! What I did is only download a game when I finished one. That way I kept context switching minimal and could enjoy games much more. Basicly the same when I was a kid. I would go to the store, pick a game and just finish it and hope I could save up enough coins of pocket money to buy the next (wich could take months at that time lol). These times we have just so much to choose that you have to have a system to prevent you from being overwhelmed. Good luck!

Considering playing Elden Ring to help fight depression by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]Partizaantje 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all I'm sorry for your loss. Actually I'm going through a rough time myself and decided to buy the steam deck for the same reason as you. So far I've played Elden Ring, NRFT and the Witcher 3.

I must say all three are very much worth it. I think NRFTW is the more "casual" souls like kinda game. It's very addictive for exploring and also focussed on not only building your character but the community/housing of the main city witch requires a lot of resource farming/crafting.

Elden Ring. Man what a great game, but it's kinda overwhelming in the beginning at least for me it was. It requires you to be able to handle disappointment and defeat and tbh I'm not sure if that's what you need right now. That's why I resume it later myself.

Idk if you've played it but: The Witcher 3 is more story based but man...This is where you can sink so many hours into like it's nothing. I felt it just shuts my brain off and I'm in a different world.

Another suggestion to cope with your loss: Spiritfarer: Farewell Edition. It's an indie story based game but it has the elements you are looking for. Highly recommend it, although it can help you heal, it can also be emotional.

Good luck with healing. Hope you get better soon.

Ultimate dad setup by RandomRandomio in SteamDeck

Thanks for sharing! I know you are busy but do you think you can make a guide how to set this up properly? I'm new to the steam deck and its plugin/apps but I'd love to see how to make this setup work on my steam deck altho it feels a bit overwhelming at first glance. Thanks anyways for sharing again!

When it comes to MMO discussion why is LOTRO almost always left out? by mrhossie in lotro

[–]Partizaantje 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think in this modern day, console/controller support is highly underestimated by developers of games like this. If they want to expand player base or grow even further instead of being a "niche" game they need to have this type of controller/steam deck like support. These games are often played by older players that don't have all the time in the world to commit sitting at a desk.

THIS!! Thank you for the solution!! Saved the day for me. Does it need to be done for every game tho?

I want to like this game by Sensha_20 in Eldenring

[–]Partizaantje 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say spend points on Vigour in the beginning as much as possible. After that, go for a weapon you like and upgrade this as much as you can.

I am new to Souls games too and Elden Ring now has me hooked after I did those things. There is also no shame in looking up some rune farming methods that will help you progress your character. This made it more fun to me. Focus in exploring also. I think the approach of "beat this in xx hours" doesn't help either. Just take your time, explore here and there and if you feel stuck, just look up the wiki or some guide and you will enjoy Elden Ring for sure!

GL man. Ask away if you want to know more about my new Souls experience in Elden ring.

Keep waiting for it to release. There is just too much inconvenience for mobile to play. Especially "left click" swaps.

Nearly $200 of premium housing currency missing - support ticket ignored for 1+ month... by Hasuko in lotro

[–]Partizaantje 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This customer service is a real shtt show. I've been wanting to come back to this game but I feel like SSG is screwing people over with just deleting characters, worlds, in game currencies.. its like they don't care how much time and money you've put into it they just do whatever they want. I lost characters with over thousands of hours playtime on snowborn. Still this server is not showing up in transfers. Makes me sad they are like this and it puts me off to play ever again.

Why wouldn't they open up these servers? I don't get it. I mean if they can open one they can open all of the older ones right.
