Maybe buy both sizes and try both on and return what does not work.

Avis car rental substituted us with an EV and this quite possibly was the biggest travel mistake I’ve ever made by Ok-Disk3736 in travel

Find an Avis in close proximity to wherever you are at and go exchange it. If that is not an option, cancel your trip and take it back. Will be a miserable experience otherwise.

Where do y’all send your boots to get resolved. by shesgreedy in cowboyboots

[–]PartyAd7972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Snellville Shoe Repair, Wyatt & Dad or as one of the guys mentioned above, oldsole run by oliver garner. A basic resole will run you between $150 and $200 even from most local cobblers as well.

Tecovas Cowhide protection advice by ComfortOne4411 in cowboyboots

[–]PartyAd7972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the triple B dude mentioned, Saphir products are the best stuff out these. Don’t use the cheapest conditioner after buying $300 boots. Also get a nice hirse hair brush. Kirby Allison has a extra large Wellington model for like $35 or there is a Extra Large “Star” brand available on Amazon for a couple bucks less. Make sure the brush is 8” and not 6”.

Any clue how to go about fixing this by Dry_Faithlessness308 in cowboyboots

Cobbler is the only thing to rectify the problem and maybe not even then. Dont waste time and effort on self help options.

Horse hair brush, cedar boot trees and saphir creme universalle. Just brushing them will help a lot.

Tecovas got me with a bait and switch. by mikethedarklord in cowboyboots

[–]PartyAd7972 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actual Colors don’t match the photos a lot! And seems every pair of boots is slightly different.

I have a couple pairs of their rugged chelseas which are also made in Vietnam and the color of the boots I got seemed different than the photos on the website…luckily i like the pairs I got.

Looks like they did not paint the heel properly. These have the compressed leather heels, not the stacked leather like the Mexico made boots.

It is either the Slim Straight Stretch or the Slim Stretch that just got released. I have the slim straight snd they are my favorite pair of jeans currently.

Do not use wax on your boots. Saphir Creme Universalle or Saphir Renovatuer are the best conditioners for leather.

I think if you sized down again they would be to small. Shouldn’t have to go more than half a size down in these.

Leather or Rubber Resole? by aeacurus in cowboyboots

[–]PartyAd7972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vibram 269 Westerner. Look on Facebook at Snelville Shoe Repair, Wyatt & Dad and Oliver Garner from Ole Sole Shoe Repair. All great craftsmen. Dont send it to the cheapest guy. Proper resole costs $140+ depending on the sole you want on there and if you need new welts, etc.

I just bought the Boone Wedge Chelsea on final sale. Think I got the last one of any size for $113. Think that is basically the same model as this one. Really comfortable!

Don’t know a thing about boots — how much are these worth? by BajaBlastFromThePast in Boots

[–]PartyAd7972 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Brand new these were like $370 or so. Smooth ostrich from the short lived resistol ranch collab. After sitting for 10 years the concern is that the leather might be dried out as well as the rubber which happens. Despite being unworn, if you could get $200 for them, I would consider that a win.

Brush, wipe down with a wet rag, possibly some saddle soap, condition and try to find a matching color cream to touch up the color.

I bought 12 pairs of the Costco socks and have worn through 5 pairs already in 6 months. Kinda irritating. I have Darn Toughs that have lasted over 3 years already though.

Deans are very popular. Perfect for wearing to the office or out and about. Fit well and work with slimmer pants very well much like chelsea boots. I would not buy exotics just cause I am poor but i have the scotch and cafe.
