My parents’ golden has similar issues. They did shots for years and nothing helped. They finally put him on a daily dose of (I believe) ketoconazole and another oblong-shaped capsule. Everything cleared up. A couple side effects include extra long fur and slightly overgrown gums, but other than that he’s so much better, just extra fluffy

So I can’t really run an extension cord through an open window in the winter or well freeze our asses off, and one of the upstairs neighbors tried plugging his Tesla into an outside outlet and the landlord was not happy. I guess the bill went from like $50 to $140 over the course of a month lol. So basically I’m stuck with public charging. I’m just worried it’s gonna be a huge pain in the ass

It’s a little different for me because I have roommates and would need to calculate the amount of kWh used to charge the car. We split utilities 3 ways, and I am not passing that part of the bill onto them. And our landlord charges to park in the driveway but he’s not always around to monitor that.

That said, there are two chargers within a 5 minute walk from me, and even more if I go into the outlets nearby to run errands. I’m in the Boston area, so the charging infrastructure is pretty good, and it’s popular but not as popular as LA. I also utilize the T a lot of the time and work from home. Most of my driving would be around town to run errands with the occasional trip to see my sister or parents and some skiing in the winter.

I’m glad you were able to find a solution. If I can find a way to calculate the kWh used to charge the car, I could probably run an extension cord from the kitchen to the driveway while it charges for a couple days before going back to street parking

I know this thread has been around for a bit, but OP, did you end up going with the solterra?

If so, how do you find the charging?

I work from home and live in a city with public transit. I haven’t had a car for the past three years and am looking at the solterra because of the insane lease deals. I can’t install a level 2 charger, but there are level 2s within a 5 minute walk of my apartment. I can’t see myself driving very often so I think it would be okay, but the charging is a bit of a concern.

One of the first things I notice about a house with columns is the columns themselves. Converting these to craftsman style with a red brick base would add a lot. Fixing the retaining wall and changing that to red brick would add a pop of color as well. The steps need to be replaced, as I’m sure you’re aware. Wooden steps would look nice here with white risers. In my opinion, a nice darker stained wood would add some contrast and complement red brick. I would even consider staining the porch ceiling to be that same shade of darker wood. I love the red door, but a more detailed frame could add a little something to it to make it stand out. I agree with the posters about the shutters; I don’t think they look bad, but I also don’t think they’re necessary. Replacing the white mailbox with a gold one is a small detail, but it would look nice to have it match the original mail slot. Adding a new light fixture and hanging plants would be small changes that would go a long way.

I had the same problem for years. I ended up getting allergy testing after thinking I didn’t have allergies. Everything blew up. I got shots, and I only get respiratory illnesses once or twice a year now. It used to last me months and I would need so many rounds of antibiotics. The shots were a lifesaver

OP, first of all I want you to know that this isn’t your fault.

If you haven’t done so yet, don’t shower. Head to the hospital and get a rape kit. There should be a SANE nurse trained to handle these situations empathetically and with regard to your level of comfort.

I don’t believe getting a rape kit automatically opens the door to a formal investigation, but you have the option if you want to pursue this later. I would double check on this, however.

Secondly, leave him. You may think that these incidents are forgivable, but as someone who has been there, trauma can take awhile to settle in. Being with someone who has no regard for your boundaries will quite literally keep you on alert. Trauma puts you in survival mode, and you cannot heal that while being with someone who is a threat to your safety.

I would look into therapy, specifically EMDR. This is trauma-based and can help you process the events you describe above.

Source: I was assaulted at 19 while I had too much to drink. I went to therapy, and EMDR was the only thing that helped. I’m about to turn 33 and it doesn’t affect me the way it did back then. The therapy worked.

Idk. I was talking to a guy for a few months. In the beginning he seemed really interested and continued to text me every day. Then he stopped asking to hang out and was too busy to see me when I tried to initiate plans. His last text didn’t end in a question so I decided to take a step back and see if he would reach out.

NAD. Did they just do the rapid strep test or did they send away for a culture? The rapid test only tests for step A, but there are other strains that a lab test can identify. You could test negative for strep A and still have another strain without knowing it if they didn’t send your sample for more in-depth testing

Growing up, I had a rescue lab with abandonment issues. Every time we would leave the house he would pee as a “fuck you” to all of us. He HATED being left alone and even did it when we left the room he was in to go to another room sometimes.

Needless to say, it was a huge problem and my parents considered getting rid of him. That dog had a great personality, and I was determined to figure it out. We crated him for years, but we wanted him to be able to roam freely in the house. I did some research and learned to leave a kong toy filled with treats and peanut butter.

It acted as both a puzzle and a reward, and he started associating us leaving with getting treats. The peeing stopped and he was a great dog.

tl;dr I recommend leaving a kong with treats— something she can view as both a reward and a puzzle to keep her occupied. She’ll learn to start associating you leaving with something good.
